Large Scale Central

ECLSTS IN YORK, PA - 2019

You’d send them all in to Shock if you said you were going to run them! It’s NIB or nothing!

To me the TCA = because they do too much of this……They really don’t know what they are missing especially with the crew that hangs out on Large Scale Central.

This is ONLY my opinion

All that, and it’s toy train collecting, vs scale model railroading.

But, to each his own…

But also, never the twain will mix.

Pretty much tells the truth don’t it ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

the meet is run by the TCA eastern division, this meet is considered, by many to be the mecca of train shows it covers all scales with many manufacturers there. THIS MEET IS OPEN TO PUBLIC. Not throwing stones but if Charlie Ro did not think it was worth his time he would not go and yes every building on the fair grounds are used, and parking lots also. So if you have ever been to York you know that’s a lot.

Richard

Just asking why would the eastern division want to kick out someone that has supported them to make room for G scale?

Roger that, Richard. But, per the official site, admission is states thusly:

“Thursday 12 Noon (members only), Friday & Saturday 9 AM. The Orange & Purple Dealer Halls are open to the Public with admission ticket…” However, “guests are permitted to attend one meet and then they are required to join TCA if they wish to continue attending the York Meet.”

It sound’s just like my TCA friend said, in that you have to be a member to attend the TCA shows – at least, more than once. It’s NOT like the ECLSTS at all.

No that is not true The orange & Purple dealer halls are open to the public on friday and saturday the orange hall is the biggest and the purple is 3rd in size. To get into the other halls you have to be a TCA member or a guests and rest you wrote Your friend was right up to a few years ago. All TCA shows in new england are open to public. All depends on what division of TCA . The division makes the rules as far as meets go.

Richard

Thanks for clarifying that Richard!

Talked to Dan Viera from Star Hobby at the Greenberg Show today. He told me that the 2019 ECLSTS has been moved to

22&23 March 2019 by the new Manager at the York Convention Center. Will be changed shortly on the website and in GR.

Thanks Lou. A whole month before Easter, so no conflicts there! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

So, finally we are nearing 2019, so the topic of the ECLSTS is worth awakening.

Who is actually planning on attending ?

Is the “ALCOVE” going to be promoted as THE place to meet?

Is the Drag and Brag ready to be organized, and promoted ?

As my travelling days have ended; I very much doubt that I can attend, but, I still want to be, somehow supportive.

The new dates mentioned should be entered in the EVENTS notices, as soon as they are verified.

All LSC members should start promoting the show, wherever they live, and by email to all their friends. It’s the only show we have left…so promote it or loose it, and make plans to attend it, if you can.

The alcove was deserted this past show. Without the time-saver there is nothing to anchor the group to that location.

Work schedule permitting, I do plan on being at the ECLSTS.

Being Easter weekend, Jan wouldn’t let Ric go to the show…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

I’ll be there again with the NHGRS group. I’m working on some new modules for our layout that I hope will provide some operational opportunities.

Certainly some interesting news since the “Drag and Brag” has been reserved for the earlier dates, since last March, and other personal schedules are already established. We’ll check into it further and post the results.

.

On another note, I had already pretty well established that the Timesaver would NOT be coming to York, as my current interest has been drawn to the HO side of the Hobby and the physical requirements of getting the “Timesaver” ready for travel is more than I want to exert these days. LIFE - its what happens while we prepare for the future.

.

I know some of you will wonder why I can’t devote my time to your comfort and enjoyment of the 48 hours of the ECLSTS. And I’m also aware, many must be thinking, Holy Cow, its 4 months from now, why can’t he get it done? Well for us, it 3 weeks. As we leave for Florida, again, in 2 days, will be home for 2 weeks around Christmas and I have to have the “Timesaver” ready for travel the day after Christmas to get it packed to be loaded, when we get home from Florida for the Winter, because the schedule was tight with the old schedule. Now another wrinkle, this Karma stuff is a bitch.

.

Anyway, stay tuned.
