There's only one "Official Restaurant" in York. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, it's the Starlight Diner.

So Andy - When did breakfast move to the Hotel? Must have started Saturday last year since I met you guys at the Starlight on Friday.

I can’t scrape together the bucks for an overnight, but I’ll put in for a personal day for Friday and see if I can’t do the ‘rapid return’ again this year. Not sure I can handle the 4+ hour drive after a drag & brag, but we’ll see.

Im also going just for the day. You going to pass by Port jervis on I84. Maybe we can meet up if our times work out. I want to be their for 9 when it opens. I can cut the drive time for us. I wont tell you how though. LOL

Why on earth would Jon want to follow a pink Toyota Prius with Rainbow stickers on it?

Hey Shawn -

I stopped doing 84/81/83 a couple of years ago when My GPS suggested I cross at the Tappan Zee and go down 287 to 78 then 222 through Reading and Lancaster then 30 to York. I can do this route in just about 4 hours if I time it right. The old route was usually 5+ hours because traffic around Scranton is a nightmare most any time of day.

I’m hoping to arrive before 7:30 and see if there is any life at the Starlight

So what’s your secret route?

I take rt 209 through the national park usually a very slow road with 35 mph speed limit but I know the guys that patrol through their. Then I take i thinks its 33 to allentown area and basicaly the same route you take from that point. I can do it in less then 3 hours

Dave you still going to buy that pink car with the rainbow stickers from me?

Well Shawn, That route would add almost an hour for me, so I thing I’ll just meet you there  Rumor has it that there is a side trip to the B&O Museum being planned for Saturday. I was looking at the routes to see if I could handle the extra drive time Saturday afternoon. This is turning into another one of my Great Circle Tours

If I wasn’t running in circles, I would think something is wrong
Ralph

Ralph, Will you be bringing your girlfriend Shawnette along this trip?

Is this just for a tourist peek or do you want something from there? If the latter I'm only 20mins from there.

HEhehe have to take SWMBO there.........my pennace for coming to York......

OK, I’m a definite GO. Just made my hotel reservation for Friday night. I’ll be arriving at the HI Express mid-afternoon, and possibly wandering over to the show for a bit. Drag and brag friday, and then the show on Sat, leaving mid-late afternoon Saturday.

See all y’all there.

Things are really getting into the planning stages, now.

Shawn,
You asked, "Ric last year you wanted me to bring my Dunkirk you still want me to bring it this year? "

That would be great! I’m going to have have display space for the Chandler Mikado, when it isn’t taking all the prizes on the contest table. Your Dunkirk will have display space on the “Timesaver” and probably put to work. Bart may bring his Shay rebuild, rebuild, rebuild. I’m sure it will all fit.

Dave,
Sounds like Sunday is going to be at your house, if you still want us. I always figure if Ken says its a go, it means he cleared it with Andy and I’m just one of the drivers. Will this include a guided tour of the old railroad stuff of Mechanisburg? Partial to old stations and stuff.

Save room for the Kaskaskia Valley Boxcar!

And the Jackson and Burke Hanrahan reefer

I can take up all the room, with just one articulated Auto-Max…

Go Andy. Let’s see Ric work that on the timesaver. Looks like you want your spoon back so you’ll have to see Rooster
