EBT Boxcar, take 2?

Hi folks
I’ve fielded several emails about a possible second run on the EBT cars I did last year. The price would be the same, $20 for a set of acrylic. I need to get commitment for about 50 of them to make it worth while ordering another batch of them. If I get less, the price will go up to possibly $25 a set.

If you are interested, email me, and let me know how many you are interested in.

Besides Bob’s beauty in the “Articles” section, has anyone finished their models from last year?
Warren?

I did six of them. Here’s one…

I’ve started. I currently have aquarium cars… As soon as I get my fall projects completed and the weather turns nasty I’ll be back in the basement building again. I have lots of winter projects to keep me occupied.

I never started mine, but will someday.

Bob, if you get close to the quota and need a few orders to push it over I could store another pair

JR

I did find some more pictures, just so I have evidence that I really did make them.

If you need some more boxcars, this is a great opportunity to get some at a very reasonable price. Plus, you’ll have the satisfaction of making them. All in all, a great deal.

Bob,
I just joine LSC, hav a buddy that would probably like to build the boxcar. What all does one get for the $20? Is the acrylic already cut to size/shape? Any of the white plastic included?

Jerry

Bob,

You have mail. I’m ready to give it a try.

Hi Jerry
What you get for the $20 is the clear acrylic “box” (sides, ends, floor, roof, and peak pieces). The white styrene parts you would have to supply yourself.

Check out the article:

and the build-along thread:

for complete details.

Thanks Bob,
But the pieces are cut to shape/size, or not?

Yeah, that's about where mine is right now, too. I'll get to it eventually, probably having more of an inspiration to get going once Accucraft delivers my EBT mikado (whenever that will be).

Later,

K

Yes, the acrylic is all cut to shape/size.

I would be interested. How do we order?
John

John, email me at [email protected], when I have a good count of who wants them, I’ll figure out the final price, collect money, and order them.

any news? How soon do you project the kits will be ready?

and then…any news on the hoppers you were talking about in chat the other day?

Andre’

I’m waiting for my laser guy to get back to me on both projects…

Two steel boxes and combine 18 have recently come out of the paint shop.

All those rivets are very small brass brads. More pictures to come when I get down to weathering. Geoff Ringlé

DAMN! Look at all those rivets. That’s one good looking car. I must confess that took far more patience than I’ll ever have.

NICE! Great to see someone else besides me and Bruce building one. That looks nifty!
