Large Scale Central

Dirty and Dusty Railway

A Railroad Emergency was declared on the Dirty and Dusty today and all crews are repairing the damage caused Saturday’s rain that dropped a foot (in G scale) of rain in about 20 minutes.

The washouts aren’t as bad as the last time six weeks ago but track is currently impassable. Repairs are expected to take all day but trains should be running bt Tuesday.

Me Too, but not because of bad weather!! Bad dog Bad dog! I scolded her and she apologized. LOL Regal

Boy looks like that stack just clears… Yup… that wake anybody up… laf.

And Jerry… hahhahaa bad dog… bad dog … bad dog… hahahaha

I’ve been off my foot lomg enough. Here’s a photo of the not-so-level cabin at the engine facilities for the Dirty and Dusty Railway. To the left of the water tower is a newly-constructed building to house the handcar and tools for the maintenance crew. To the right is the coaling facility that needs a bucket.

Sone work has resumed.

A dog patiently waits for the old prospector as he inspects the new horses that have come to the D&D Railway.

Nice job with the fence posts, just gave me an idea.

Very nice corral and the fence turned out quite well.

Those little scenes make the RR doug nice work

I really enjoy photography and never did close-ups until the last couple years. This is a lot of fun.

One of my winter projects is to build a camera car and try shooting movies.

When I first decided to build that fence I was going to use branches for posts. But trying to glue them was just too too much of a problem. This is the first of three corrals. The longhorn steers get their own!

Great pic Doug, look just like horse behave

Good stuff Doug!

Now that neat…

Shortly before the tracks were buried in snow today I snapped this picture of Silver Onyx. Since the D&D doesn’t have a plow rail traffic has come to a halt.

Holy Sheet!!! That don’t look like no desert. More like the North pole.

The snow isn’t nearly as deep when I post the right one!

Love seeing a garden railroad in the snow. The changing seasons sure add some spice to our layouts. I am looking forward to snow down here in Tennessee but it will probably be a while.

Looks nice Doug. What’s your elevation there? About 4000 feet?

Yep. We are 3850. The snow is currently about 2 inches deeper and it’s still snowing!

Nice shot in the snow. We have been having mild weather. We had that 15 inches in oct and 1/2 inch last week. No where near what we should have by now. Im not complaining yet I need to finish my lean-to

I will try and get a video up. Elevation 5360
