I note that for most of the USA, the clocks go back one hour next week-end 4th. November 2018.
For the record the clocks go back in the UK tomorrow at 2 am 28th. October, 2018.

Ours went forwards two weeks ago.
Sadly Australia does not observe the solstices like I thought the USA and UK once did. The times here are arbitrary and not all states adopt DST either.
I used to think DST was a good idea. Not so sure now.
It’s a pain in you know where here. The southern states (NSW, Victoria) put their clocks forward an hour - QLD doesn’t.
It’s easy to lose track if you ring down south

Arizona and Hawaii hate the sun …One of the reasons I stopped peeling potatoes on a Tuna boat off the coast of Guam.

Speaking for Arizona, we don’t hate the sun, we have enough that we don’t need to save any. Thus we avoid your silly games.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)
Florida would love to abandon DST. The sun sets at 6:45pm today when it will still be 70+ degrees. Maybe the tourists like to watch the sun set but not at 5:45pm !!
At this time of yr, our clocks will ‘FALL back’ an hour.
For the post winter change, they ‘SPRING forward’ an hour.
Regionally one of the politicos tabled a bill last yr. to cease these twice yrly changes , but the majority said no !
Sask.(province next to us) does not change and at least a couple states too … and the peoples are quite happy nor fallen into a abyss !!
Personally life would be so much easier without these time/clock changes. People would have 2 less items to complain each yr. about, although the media would have empty air to fill (ok not)

Thank you John, I could not agree more! I would be there except for the woman I live with, like 59 years worth. I personaly thing it is a real pain in the a____! So day I’ll be able to return to “God’s Country”!

Well, I’ll be moving to Arizona from Florida once this property sells and the one thing I am not looking forward to is the loss of daylight savings time. I can use the hour of daylight in the evening far more than early in the morning.
Welcome Randy, you’ll adjust. We roll up the side walks earlier.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
I tend to get up with the sun, when we still have the night’s cool. In the evening, you’re still burning off the heat of the day.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
I knew something was up when the BBC started coverage of the Eagles/Jags game from Wembley at 1 pm rather than 2 pm. Right in the middle of my Sunday lunch. How inconsiderate ! Wake up NFL if you want to keep us UK fans.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Thought they had. Last I heard they had decided to do away with it. Later RJD

The sun is wrong!
Visit my website for the truth about the sun and how others on LSC fixed the problem with the sun.

That sounds like they would prefer to keep DST…
Its 5 O’clock somewhere!
If I’m not mistaken California gets a vote to end it. Where did I put my mail in ballot?
We get mail in ballots because my zip code is E I E I O. So on election day I drive them to the polling place to get them in on time.
Jim, we do get to vote but it is advisory only.
Ric…you were missed in Syracuse NY, yesterday…it was a great occasion to boil water, and join friends for fun and games…at the Syracuse train show. Bernie and I got there and had a great time.
The game we played, at the show, was “Searching for Ric”…there was a great turn-out…if any one was to find you, we were to immediately turn around, and look for Jan…the person we all really, were looking for !! We even reserved a table for 12, at a steak house…two of the seats were for Jan and you…great meal, great friends, great times…bought our FLLS golf shirts, and registered for the 50th anniversary bash…AND YES, Ric…THE CLOCKS ARE NOW SET BACK AN HOUR…no big deal…just a minute or two…the 'puter does it on it’s own, so do the telephones…that hour, ahead or back, doesn’t make much difference…as long as you don’t fret over it….

MAKE SURE YOU VOTE…and vote often…TRY voting “AGAINST HATRED”…bring Americans back together again, as the proud and loving country your neighbours knew you as, not that many years ago.

I know…NO RELIGION OR POLITICS…but the though just had to be expressed, with great hopes for the future.
