Dave's Mik 2020 Blacksmith shop

For 2020 I’m going to attempt to build a small Blacksmith Shop.

Cozza Blacksmith, named for a departed friend.

The incredible Never Rust Taylor Tin will top the shop, with Taylor Cut Stones holding up the bottom half, with Board -N- Batten sides above the stone work.

Should be fun…

So that’s why you made all those parts, so you can get a head start on the rest of the participants. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Dave, can we expect it to have a removable roof with a fully detailed interior (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

@Dan… The odds of that happening is about as good as your being elected gov. of AL… or closer to Devon getting 3 builds finnished in the 30 day allotment.

Dave

3??? I’d be happy with 1

Dave, I can assure you my odds of being elected Gov of Alabama are far greater than Devon completing 3 projects in 30, 60, 90 … pick one … days (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Sorry, Devon, Dave left it hanging over the plate and I had to swing (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Lol,

I’m such an easy target.

Well, Devon makes me feel better about my glacial progress… Right up until he posts pictures of his wood-crafting masterpieces.

I don’t show you all of those that aren’t finished. . . trust me its not better on that side of my house. . .(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Day 1,

Spent part of the day prototyping the BS shop. worked out the size and proportions.

Tomorrow I’ll start cutting the wood for the basic box framing and roof…

Stay tuned.

Nice! You guys with your cardboard mockups. I like it!

Nice looking shop, Dave. That one too, could be touched up and used on the layout as is.

I love the typeface you selected, great stuff!!

Where’d you get the door?..did you have it (or maybe two hundred) on hand before January 1st?

Very nice Dave

Dennis

You guys are closet card stock modelers aren’t you

That card stock shop looks better than one of my finished products!!! I should do that to figure things out before I build them

Ahhh, it’s good to see that I am not the only user of “Cardboardcutup” rather than “Sketchup” to design buildings.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

I’ve got 3 of those doors, need one? I can let it go for…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-money-mouth.gif)

Geez another great cardboard mockup. Will that soon be a requirement? First the napkin sketch tomorrow the cardboard?

Your blacksmith shop is a good looking design. Will it also have opening doors on the side? It will get like an oven in there in the Summer for the workers.

Got the wood cut, and fitted up. 1/2 Plywood for the walls, and 1/4 for the roof.

Next up, seal all edges and sides with Tightbond III glue, and glue and nail all the pieces together.

Stay tuned.
