Daves 2019 Mik Challenge Build

Wow, those signs look great.

Cool signs, Dave. Very professional.

Those signs are great.

I AM DONE ! ! !

Finished with 36 hours to go..

real works of art

From start to finish, very high quality craftsmanship, Dave.

Really like the signs and the color choice!!! Great Build!!!

Well guys… I finished up early, but …One build really did something for me… I have some time left., so

This is the carnage left on my work bench, Either clean it up… or keep building. KEEP BUILDING… he cries!!!

Spent a couple hours cutting up more wood… That pile will be turned into two more wagon top boxcars… And I won’t have to clean up the work bench just yet…

it’s a WIN…WIN.

Dave,

I don’t blame you. Who wants to clean when you can build and building four or five of those wagon top box cars to mail to me seems like a perfectly reasonable use of the leftover wood.

You go, Dave (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif). I’m not greedy like Devon … I won’t take any more than 2 no matter how hard you twist my arm (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)Looking forward to seeing them strung together.

Very Nice Work!!

Started on the two additional wagon top boxcars. I’m challenging myself to see just how far I can get before the time runs out. Don’t really believe I can get all the way done, with painting and etc.

Start… time

Got the underside sills , end beams, floors, external bracing, and interior wall boards. Time 12:05 5 hrs and 15 minutes.

And the prototype for reference .

And the work bench is still a wreck…

Tomorrow… roofs and doors…

This has been quite a project! Interesting about the UV resistant printed signs.

The Usan Bolt of boxcar builders!

you need to build a locomotive to pull them before tomorrow, otherwise it is a complete fail!!! LOL awesome work Dave, amazing you get all this done, and my simple easy building is no where near finished. Nice to have a huge supply of bits and pieces to BLING them out too. awesome job

Spent part of today getting done as much as I could… I did not have the 3/32 rod to make the vented doors with… So I made the 4 regular doors, and cut the wood for the vented ones.

Thats the pile of lumber down front.

Likewise I didn’t have the right stuff for the roof… Started to gerry rig it and dicidid not to mess it up just to get it done.

Got all the construction done.

So I’ll start painting tomorrow, and get what I need to finish them up.

And the prototype is still watching her new sisters.

Oh yah, I’ll need to assemble a couple more sets of trucks.

Not to bad for a 36 hr project.

I’m impressed, Dave. That’s a lot of work in a short time. I will definitely be building several of those but it will take me much longer.

Unable to get the metal for the vented doors bars, I went ahead and painted…

Got the underside, done.

And the outsides…

Still need to get the roofs on… and painted, and hang the jewelry .

Wire coat hangers for the doors ?
