In my household smoke detectors when we went to daylight savings time? Isn't that what batteries are for?

We don't need no stinkin batteries for our smoke detectors. When the caged Rooster falls over..........we make tracks :D Ralph

You mean canary don’t you Ralph?
LOL!

It’s still not done but it ran outside today (without the roof fastened in place yet, still working on hiding the motor)

Simply amazing, isn't it :D Ralph

Rooster tell your son he did a great job building that engine. Looks great and its about time we see it running outdoors.

What a Rube Goldberg looking contraption that things is…

I still can’t believe I made it work. When I first saw the prototype, I thought it was cool and I wanted to attempt to build it even though I was told to pick something easier to model. My response was “that thing is pretty simple and straight forward”. BOY did I learn a lot from this build!! Some of the crew here was a big help in educating me on steam locomotives and for that I thank you (you know who you are).
My goal is to finish it this summer and get some GOOD video of it pulling the combination car over my bridges (as that was it’s prototypical purpose). It will then reside on loan at our local museum with the combination car for their CVRR room.
