Oh pish tosh. Its JUST Alco P’s. They are a dime a dozen.

:-p

That’s why the CVRR’s CEO decided he needed a few that he could modify and disassemble/cut up… slap a new power plant and trucks in it/on it then sell what is good usable stuff ! Dieseltectural salvage is big business these days!

Thoughts are always welcome

I have a number of thoughts, but believe me you don’t want to hear them (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)

Air tanks are modified aristo units and the dryers on the forward tank are 1/16" brass rod running into USA NW brake cylinders cut in half. By updating and moving the trucks and air tanks fore and aft outward gives the unit more water and fuel storage behind the side skirts. Still ain’t decided on roof lines yet . Nathan K5s are LGB though. Not really doing a lot of documentation with this as I’m just building as time permits and NOTHING is planned only free lanced.

I don’t even like the PA’s but purchased ABBA shells so I can rob peter to pay paul and then not repaint only modify! However it’s growing on me as I proceed on.

She will eventually be rebadged for the CVRR though with no repaint which is nice !

Enlighten me !

If you are having fun you don’t need enlightened ! The old “If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything” rule applies so I have no reason to spoil your fun !

Rooster, sorry to ask this after 8 pages, but what is the list of things that had to be changed on the PA? I gather they were unique to your road name.

Also, are you going to put sound in it? (I have an ulterior motive that you might like)

No need to be sorry Greg but if you re-read it twice you would have realized that the PA only came into the picture on page 6 so no need to re-read the other 6 pages before posting. “Its all good” (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

As for what had to be changed on the PA …really nothing had to be changed only gutted and upgraded. Honestly the PA would never have been my choice of locomotive for the CVRR office car train however 3 yrs ago “The Mysterious Chuck” I have spoken about had the ABBA shells in his parts bin for a decent price at the York train show, the color was just right so I scooped them up thinking no repaint only re badging . Also picked up some of his C blocks as well and HTCS frames. Upgrades are gen sets for the HEP removing the steam gens, modern GE dynamic braking, A/C for the cab etc. However most of this is carried inside the covered wagon so fans are needed to reduce the extra heat and duct work will allow this on the very open sides of PA. It will also get a new EMD 710 V-12 (same as an F59PH) prime mover from Progress Rail along with a few other things.

Remember this is completely fictional and my rules …I only model by eye and could care less about the logistical stand point because my models go round and round and round but they are the only ones in the world and my models and “I only aim to please myself”.

Yes I am planning on putting sound into this unit and was honestly looking at the Revo with generic (but not bad) sound. Sound really isn’t my thing as I just enjoy building and going roundy round. However I was thinking I would also make this unit either track or battery (with a switch) and the Revo is interesting to me for numerous reasons so it might be time to play with one or two or three if I like it.

So I’m interested in your, you’re ulterior motive …enlighten me!

Hmmm … this is almost like when the Riddler and Penguin teamed up …stay tuned …

Jedi Master Greg …I have given you over 24 hrs and?

So that would be four reads? Kind of like deja vu all over again?

Still thinking.

I have never modified a loco with a freelance attitude before. Would like to add another red 3mm LED in the center for reversing when needed.

Since the PA has that sloped roof up front, I think you could add that light up there, nice and sleek. Black housing to match roof.

Sorry, very tied up with CEO of company, finally catching up.

Is the original speaker mount inside still there? you can see the ring and the 4 posts for mounting a speaker.

Yes, Jedi Master Greg it’s in the fuel cell like all the Ro products are however you knew this already from your amazing website! So what secrets are you offering that I might like?

TEST

Undecided on mods with this unit currently. Still playing around trying to get the free lance feel with it (still not feeling it though). However by adding these pics I can up my post count and be the “Top Poster” as this is IMPORTANT !

And when I add this comment to tell you how good I think it looks, it puts you right back where you were :o

Looking good Rooster. The balance will set you free(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I keep looking at your last posted pic and wonder if symmetry may be achieved by at least hashing the reflective tape the length of the side ?

Rooster, you’re glowing…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Glowing? Or just stunned?
