Large Scale Central

CVRR Electric Motor Car #15

Shame on you Andy!

Nothing is set in place yet only test fitting. I don’t even know if the “prototype” had brass railing but I thought it would be a nice touch with the Tuscan paint and black roof. Remember this is only an educational model and trying to mimic the prototype. So I may add or remove items. Either way I’m sharing my progress as too what my eye see’s off of the black and whites on page 1.

Boy, that’s some precision drilling.

No s**t!!! WTF Rooster? That is impressive, how close to scale size is it? Looks right from here…

Nice “iron” work, Rooster. Very impressive.

Scale matters not ! As you said “What looks right” matters most.

Looking Good !

The base for the end railings are finished (not set) and will add details later if warranted. At this point I could take it all apart and allow someone to reassemble it if needed.

Currently working on the headlight and cannot decide how I want the headlight arrangement. The brass tension rods will not sit in that position when decided on proper mounting as they are only there until the copper tube sets in place. {yes I broke off a pole rest}

Still plugging away on the railing and yes it is different than the prototype. Noting is mounted only mocked up and removable in rooster fashion. Need to add some escutcheons in places as well.

Once again “nothing is mounted and true/squared” only pinned in place. I was disturbed about the added iron I could see on the roof of the 6 or 7 pictures that “I have found” which exist with this car. However it occurred to me that it’s probably electrical conduit so that is what I’m going with until I’m told differently or someone has proof otherwise other than what Ken and Gary could remember as a kid (not enough proof for me).

Yes I am envisioning as I go and freelancing a good bit but this model will be for educational purposes so interest needs to be peaked at first look and only after the flavor of the prototype.

Most of all I’m having fun and enjoying this build even though I’m trying to decipher things as I did with Utility.

Rooster, I’m glad you are having fun cause I am too. It has been a true pleasure to follow along. Damn good job. My only question is “What’s next?” (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

No, Rooster, you don’t get off that easy. I mean what “project” will be next. I want more (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

Don’t know Dan…still need to finish my OCS fleet and locos https://www.largescalecentral.com/forums/topic/22514/cvrr-ocs?page=8

However I have modern dome car in mind for the OCS fleet. Not to mention the “original” or one of the old school sleeping cars I have researched but do not want …http://explorepahistory.com/hmarker.php?markerId=1-A-1B5

Really enjoying the old school stuff as no one can tell me I’m incorrect on my decisions unless they have more proof than the pics I can find. Digging the historical aspect as well and learning a lot that no one cares about anyway except me.

Btw …Judge Watts founded what is now called Penn State University.

Well, I’ll be anxiously waiting on whatever project you decide to do. You do great and inspiring work.

I thought for sure you would make your own "Rooster dance " car with a more modern music repertoire … (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
