The CVRR or Cumberland Valley RR was a very prosperous RR back in it’s hey day. The tracks still stand for the most part (now owned by NS) however most of the branches are long gone. Part of the main line runs behind my home (active daily) moving local mixed freight. I’m certainly not converting to this era modeling but I do enjoy history and perhaps have a bit of a fetish for local history. Back in the day this car(now residing at Strasburg Museum) certainly would have passed behind my home and would have been drawn by the Pioneer locomotive (bottom picture) which now resides in the B&O museum. With that said I decided I would attempt a kitbash with (Bachmann cars) trying to replicate this car but using only what I have from the kits (cosmetically wise).
Sooo here it goes!
With the kit cut up and started I don’t like it as it’s too short. I will need to add another kit and increase the length. I plan on working with just the kits themselves and adding extra details only when needed.
