Update???

Yea, how’s this monster coming along?

Didn’t realize its been that long since update, will get one up soon

AAron has been slacking lately… hehehe

You know it Andy hehehe… Update: work is progressing on the control deck, I have installed the guages and valves and attached the assembly to the deck. Here is the deck in place

Just looked at the skidder and the frame is rusting as we speak so time for an update

I have constructed a walkway, this is in front of the winches and is directly behind where the tower will be, imagine looking strait up and seeing that tower standing 90’ above you.

and here we see the framework for the roof over the winches taking shape, there will be tin sheets over this with the middle section open for cables to run through.

Really nice Aaron. Good to see the update.

WOW! is it gonna be rail worthy by October?

Bout time you got back to work…

Bart - sure, but maybe October 2018 lol. will try to have it there with a little more done. May put it right in the middle of the basement yard just to create a challenge hehehe

Andy - I know, time to get the Ski out again, or dynamite lol

Aaron as long as it’s ready for ECLSTS in 2914…

Dad may live that long ya’ know!

That might work. If my crew can’t get it done within that time then it might be time for another crew hehehe

Happy 4th of July Everyone. Decided I should start on the fun task of plumbing. The crew was skeptical of their skills so they hired an outside crew, but I am having my doubts. They decided to do some test fitting before install and well, things went as well as expected from this trio hehehe

decided to start on the steam fittings leaving the main cylinders. they were made from some round stock, some small washers, and “rivets”.

here is one installed,

and here is an overall shot with the steam pipe running up to the roofline, how do you like that neon glowing pipe hehehe

Happy 4th, Aaron… keep working… hehehe

Great to see you back on this project. Have a great 4th Aaron

…winking…

Nice detail Aaron.

Is it done yet?

Update! Working more on boiler plumbing today. The boiler on this skidder as built was superheated, so here is some of the plumbing in place for that

and here is the tri-cocks and sight glass installed

would be a hassle to check the water level when the sight glass is about 5 ft. over your head lol next plumbing the water tank and pump. more to follow…

Update?
