Large Scale Central

Corrugated Roofing machine

@ Bob, @ Al, @ Rodney. Well Hell what do I know. I’m backing into this, I’m no engineer. So help me not any more mistakes. I now relizise that working back from a known gear set, would make it easier. If I have to I will cut another set of dies.

Will get a measurement of the OC distance.

Stand By.

Dave

I think the timing belt with a idler would be the best way to go now instead of making new dies. This away you can take up the slack in the belt.

Rodney

Rodney,

A timing belt will not work because the two shafts must rotate in opposite directions, not the same direction.

New Alum. got here. 1100 series 0 temper. Man this stuff is different from the other stuff that i was using, including the annelid soda cans.

Able to roll out sheets with little effort. Feeding is still an issue thou. I think that I will still pursue the gearing of the dies. I’ve tweaked the setup more, and better aligned the two dies.

Shrinkage of the blanks width comes to about.022 after running thru. Final width ends up to be a scale 27" in 1:20.3.

Gonna build something with the pieces I’ve run.

That looks great Dave, You the man.

It’s been a while, But this Roller Machine is what I used to make the roof panels for Mik’s Build Challenge 2016.

I have made a set of 1:30 dies also. Added a handle to crank it with, and really heavy “O” rings to drive the two rollers.

Feeds great. Runs smooth.

Thanks for sharing again. That looks like a great little machine. If you want to use gears, pick some with large teeth so that the distance between the rollers can be adjusted without coming out of mesh or jamming.

Why go to gears, if it works, don’t fix it.

Dave, what? No 1:24th rollers? No 1:29th rollers? No 1:22.5 rollers? No…I’m kidding.
