It was time to do a little work on the Sunny View Line and the Pacolet River Valley Railroad as well. It was decided to remove the small inner loop the SV depot was on. My original idea was to keep this inner loop track powered so I’d have somewhere to run the non battery/RC equipment. However, it hasn’t happened. So I decided to remove the loop and open up the interior a bit. Here it is with the inner loop removed. The pad for the SV depot still needs to be moved at this point. The straight was lengthened a foot by moving the “S” closer to the switch.

The pad was moved and checked for clearance. Notice all the paint that has flaked off the Aristo Church roof. It’s less than a year old, so I’m not too happy about it. My spray bomb paint jobs hold up much longer

I also added the switches for a caboose track to the PVRR yard. I need to buy some used brass track to complete the caboose track and extend the sidings. Although my mainlines are aluminum, the entire yard complex is brass. I’d like to keep it that way. The yard tracks are much more likely to get stepped on.

Unfortunately, I used up the last of my 16 tons of gravel on the caboose track. Re-ballasting the rest of the yard, as well as the mainlines, will have to wait until I can get another 8 tons of gravel delivered. If your RR is on the ground, you can’t have too much gravel
I’ve had as much as 12 inches of rain, and never have any standing water or washouts. Ralph I really don’t like these smaller pictures
