Color match for D&RGW Green Passenger Cars

Does anyone have a good match for the Green used by Accrucraft for there Green D&RGW 1:20 passenger cars?

Thanks

Stan

Rustoleum “Spruce green” is the same tone, but lighter overall. I havent found a good deep forest green in any rattle can that I like.

You might try taking a car side to a good independent paint store for a computer match. If it’s close to any published commercial formula, then they can probably mix it in a latex. You can thin and shoot latex with a HVLP spray system or an air brush. Some paint dealers can create custom color spray cans.

I took one of my coach sides to a local paint store as was mentioned. The first trip wasn’t quite the match I was looking for so I took it there again and got a color slightly different. I ended up mixing the two fifty- fifty and got my match. It was a Benjamin Moore latex enamel. I did some research and discovered that you could make a mix of 75% paint and 25% Windex. It worked great with an airbrush. Windex seems to work both as a thinner and a wetting agent.

That’s not a good match for the actual car, which is more green.

I have Hunter Green and Hunt Club Green in rattle cans. They are close.

I used GN Green on my EBT stuff, which is a little darker. The middle coach here is original Accucraft, I believe. The top one is under construction so it is not GN Green yet.

Hey I just posted the color Rooster mentioned and paired the pic with the car BD has as a comparison. But the earthy green looks close to your bottom car’s tone

I looked at the Accucraft store pic not BD’s car pic before deciding on what color I would choose if I was looking for that color for that car “Which I am not” !
However hence my post but for $6 a can it’s worth a test spray. If it’s not sufficient then I would be willing to bet that $6 can could certainly be used in other applications on the OPERATING railroad that would suit the modeling era.

Only my thought’s
