Colin Powel endorses Obama

Colin Powel endorses Obama
I got the feeling that Sara Palin as VP had a lot to do with his decision.

Ewww… That’s gonna piss off a bunch of people.

Should Obama win and appoint Powell as his Secretary of State … he would certain be in a Win-Win-Win position.

IMHO if Colin Powell were smart he would tell Obama to go to h*ll on the Secretary of State position… Then it would be a WIN-WIN-WIN for ever body…

Not sure everyone agrees with that

Bob,

This reminds me of other threads on here, people recognize the writing on the wall, but “By George, this isn’t going to happen”. Best get in touch with whoever and start an email campaign aimed at Whoever that it doesn’t happen.

BTW it is possible that Powell is a very pragmatic and rational man, when the call should come, he could decide that being on the inside is better than looking in. Unless you’re a camel; your nose is in and the rest will follow.

Ralph.
Could this be payback for being forced to lie at the UN by Dubya?

Fred.
Sheep that vote?

Tony,

Those sheep are in the fraud capitol of Mo… He should get lots of double votes…

Hans-Joerg,

Some times when you jack with the BULL, you get the HORNS…

Bob,

Bulls?

I thought you had only two parties, the donkeys and the elephants (no preference, strictly in alphabetical order!).

Even the most intelligent people sometimes do really stupid things…

I admire and respect Gen Powell, but he ain’t perfect. And if you think about it, he took the job when Shrub offered it too, so maybe his judgment on political matters might be suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome?

Besides I don’t always agree with anybody, so I’ll allow him a few mistakes. lol

100,000 turn out for Obama in St. Louis

Photo was taken at the Gateway Arch sitting right in the middle of two states (Missouri and Illinois) and two of the biggest ghettos in the USA (St. Louis and East St. Louis). Think of all the money the government could have saved on postage by passing out their welfare checks right there on Saturday.

Hey Ric, they can still do that! Hand them out on Nov 4th when all those people will be voting, just make sure it happens after the voting. Sort of a “Thank You” gesture. :stuck_out_tongue:  PS this is good, too! Fits the theme. http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/08/29/online-retailers-point-towards-a-november-4-release-for-wrath/

That’s right, it’s all just black people on welfare. Keep telling yourselves that. And Powell–it’s “just about race.” And Warren Buffet is a socialist. The sky is green. Up is down.

Mike,

Do you associate all ghettos with just “Black People”, your words? There are lots of low income, ethnic groups living in the ghettos of St. Louis, Mo. and East St. Louis, Il. I think it is more economic, than ethnic, but your points are well taken.

I do actually associate the word “ghetto” with black people. The word is used not just to describe a neighborhood, but a neighborhood where people are segregated by law or public pressure. It originated in Venice, where it was used to describe the district Jews were forced to live in. It was used the same way in the United States to describe Jewish neighborhoods, sometimes to describe other white ethnic neighborhoods, though much less often because white ethnics faced less segregationist pressures. Most often in US history it has been used to describe black neighborhoods, because neighborhoods were much more likely to fit the original meaning of the term “ghetto,” which again is an area which an ethnic or racial minority is restricted to. So when I use the term ghetto I mean it to describe a neighborhood which custom, law, and economic pressure have tended to segregate by race.

Do I think all black people live in ghettos? Nope. Do I think all black people are poor? nope. Do I think only poor people on welfare were at that rally? Nope. But apparently you do

Putting the demographics of that rally aside, I think the important thing to note is that the sheer number of people there outnumber any republican rally by a huge margin. You may not like the man, you may not like what he’s saying, or what you think his religion is, or what you believe his race is, but the republicans aren’t drawing numbers like that.

Bob,

Be carefull with numbers… Remember the million mom march!! & for Mike the ghetto in my town was whites on the south side of the tracks…
