Christmas LOOT.. What you get?

It is Christmas today and I’m wondering what train related gifts you guys received.

Having most of what I need and being very selective for anything new trains are not an easy thing to buy.

I did get a neat Model Railroader book, “Model Railroads go to War” it has lots of neat info and photos of war time trains. Thanks Wifey.

So what did you get?

My mom doesn’t buy me trains. She has no idea what I want and what I would like.

I bought me a really pretty Mantua HO 2-8-2 for Christmas. Maybe, someday, when UPS finds my house again, it will arrive.

I got a new Paasche double action airbrush to replace my old single action which fell apart. I also got a railroad book. No other train related stuff. I did get my MTH flatcar I bought off ebay a couple of days ago, sure is long!

I’m considering the Forney I got from Stan last week as my Christmas present to myself.

Otherwise we only have gift exchanges with the children but I did get a nifty very retro Empire Strikes Back t-shirt.

I got puzzled … errr I mean I’m puzzled … errr I received a 750pcs (23.5" x 15.5") railway theme puzzle. Double headed fancy steam train of typical Brit outlines. Five minutes of Google and tra-ra

78019 heading 73156 and a rack of MK1 coaches on the GCR.

OK it is a double puzzle; the caption on the box (in English, French and Italian) says STEAM LOCOMOTIVE. The angle at which the picture was shot assures maximum entertainment/aggravation.

Dave,

I mark up the Micromark catalog and leave it for my wife to find. She finds it a lot easier than buying me another tie.

I got a 4 pack of the C&MW hoppers made by Piko. Neat plus I got a C&NW lighted wall plaque. Later RJD

Well besides a box of chocolates which I definitely don’t need and some other things the train related item was an Accucraft WSL #15 Shay

I got a really neat wall plaque from the Cass Scenic RR from the SRVP and my puppy got me an On30 AMS Boxcar…

We got Linda a new Nikon D750 “Full Frame” camera (24.2 MP), with the complementary full frame Nikkor 24-120 mm, 80 - 300 mm, and 60 mm “portrait/macro/close-up” lenses, a set of extension tubes, the strongest Gorilla pod, filters, and a bunch of goodies to go with it.

Maybe I’ll use it too.

Yeah, yeah Todd, that tactic is not all that new, but very effective.

Works with all manner of items, as long as it’s not too obvious. BTW I got SWMBO one of those heated shoulder, back and neck massagers, perhaps I get to use it too.

I got a lump of hard coal…which can be Railroad related…

My great wife really surprised the heck out of me with a GoPro camera. She really was watching all those RR videos I was making after all.

Merry Christmas.

Grandma Clause, Told Grandpa Clause to get himself something special that he really wanted. So TaDa…

High End, Made in the USA, 116 pieces of the sexiest pro grade drill bits I could dream of. Wish I would of had them 25 years ago, Now I’m not sure that I’ll get 25 years of use.

AND

If you don’t recognize these, well then just nod your head and politely smile, and act impressed. Sets of pro grade, Made in the USA, taps, all the smaller sizes in taper, plug and bottom. I’ve been so tired of not having what I need, or that it was such a cheepy that it doesn’t last.

And somewhere between NY and NM a set of reamers, Of course Made in the USA!

My office manager got me a calendar of Right and Proper British Trains. No Headlights!

What? you got taps, but no dies? For shame.

Piko Brewery No Picture yet

USAT Sam Adams Octoberfest Refer

USAT Hooch Caboose

made me this. He is geting into black smithing along with my borther-in-law.

Wow Dave now I know if I ever need a custom intake manifold machined out of a solid billet of aluminum I know who to call now.

Nothing for me, but I really don’t need more stuff! But I gave my wife an LGB Starbucks Boxcar, which is named for my wife’s favorite coffee shop.

She got me a chain saw, which is only RR related if I use it to cut trees for RR timers and ties.

Piko switches! The empire will expand!
