Jon, They are all bumped to the top of the Modeling forum with pictures. Ralph

1 Ron Spencer, derrick

2 John Lilly, crane

3 Ralph Berg, mow caboose

Ron Spencer derrick
John Lily Crane
Ralph, Shawn, Korm for I can’t decide

OK this is a tough call…but being that it’s worded vote for your favorite I’m gonna list as such. I’m also taking into factor the tools of some and their workshops. Some are coffee table builds some are not.

Korm…awesome use of materials on hand and good story with it.
Eddie …Just love the Dollar store buy and mod.
Geoff…First rolling stock scratchbuild ( mine was a baggage car last challenge )

Ron’s derrick and his work all together is incredible, Lily’s bending styrene technique raised some eyebrows and I’m sure it will be used in he future, Mik always has great ideas, Marconi is a friend so I cannot be biased, Shawn … still love the plow you originally made. Ralph pays attention and absorbs. Either way what I enjoy so much about this board is look what I built not look what I bought!
Great work all around guys!

Rooster you said that just the way I wanted to express myself when I voted. Just couldn’t come up with the words. To everyone who took the challenge, congradulations on a job well done! You are all winners. Even if Ralphie the scale car needs an appointment at the orthodontist.

Your vote is>? Edit too say never mind....shut up Rooster.....Cock a doodle doo! :)

I’ll get you another beverage while you scroll up.

First of all - everyone who entered deserves an Atta-Boy with gold stars. There isn’t a bad model in the bunch. Picking winners isn’t easy, but here goes -

#1 Ron Spencer - The detail and the functionality of this build just blows me away. Start signing donkeys Ron.

#2 Shawn - Use of interesting materials and a great family look that fits with his RR.

#3 Ralph Berg - The “Roosterboose” was just too good of an idea to not vote for.

Honorable Mentions to: Korm showed how left over RF connectors can become pipe and hose couplers. John Lily wowed everyone with his styrene bending and Eddie for his use of toy guts to create a a great looking speeder.

Everyone did great.

1…Ron Spencer
2…John Lilly
3…Shawn
These guys did a great job in both modeling and workmanship
I was able to learn a lot with your modeling posts
I liked shawns since I have been fighting wildland fires for 23 years

Don't forget to go through the Challenge 2 building logs in the Modeling forum and vote for your top 3 favorites here. Ralph

Its not easy voting everyone did a great job.

#1 Ron Spencer Amazing job on that Derrick. Amazing work
#2 Ralph I love a workcaboose and the got to love the Rooster decals.
#3 Geoff for first build
Honorable mention John Lilly and Korm
Humor Rooster with the Ralphie car. I thought it was great

As voting for yourself is just not cool, my choices are

  1. John Lilly – crane on flatcar, interesting technique in bending the boom rather than building it curved.

  2. Shawn V. – fire fighting car, great use of materials at hand and the car blends in with your theme.

  3. Geoff George – MOW spray car, an excellent job on what I understand is your first scratchbuild.

An honorable mention to all of the others, especially those on their first builds.
Every one has done a great job and I certainly enjoyed watching your builds come together.
Again, congratulations.

Ron

An incredible amount of work and skill has gone into these projects. I should kmow, my entry isn’t finished yet! Since that is my first rolling stock build I had no idea how much time it takes. A big CONGRATULATIONS to all.
But I have to vote.

  1. Ralph
  2. Ron
  3. Korm
