Building the Kittatinny Mt RR

Wow Shawn, That’s really looking more finished now. Didn’t take long at all. Like the walkway a lot.

And Busy Bodies, Cool! I never heard of them before. May need a few some day. That is, if I’m no good at making them.

Shawn, my man, I am VERY impressed. This is great inspiration to go out and… wait, it’s raining!

Thanks guys. My wife made only one complaint. When I first laid the track out she said “how am I going to get down the steps and make that turn at the bottom”. Her complaint was her hips were to wide. I know, don’t ask because their is more then enough room to turn a body. So when I finished I said I need to make a wide load sign for that area hehe…

Lou you cant let a little rain stop you. Ialready got my load of dirt and im in the process of building my trestles.

Shawn, nice progress… Railroad is looking good…

Looks like a great start. Looking forward to seeing this as it progresses.

I made more progress o the railroad. I got the sawmill area set up and I started working on the spare tree. More plants have bee added but still needs a lot more. I also got the trestle finished and got my first section of hand laid track done. This section will be used for the trestle. I debated on whether I should put guide rails on the trestle but the majority of the pictures I have seen in my PA logging books does not show guide rails on the trestles. I decided to go without.

Now that the trestle is complete I ca start thinking about the covered bridge and hand laying more track.

The boy is definitely fast. Ah, the joys of youth! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Great progress. I started reading from a month ago and it’s fun to see what you have done in a month! Do you ever sleep???

That’s a very impressive trestle and it looks great. I would recommend placing it on something. Foamed PVC glued to each base or even just on a rock. I didn’t and the base has started to rot away.

Thanks for the tip Bruce. I did put block under the bents and then stone on top. Here is the trestle in place.

Its the hat

I could use a hat like that. I mean, I could use the energy, drive and ambition that the hat apparently gave him.

Excellent work on the trestle. What are your plans for the well head ?
