Upon closer inspection…Perfect

No rules with box cabs !

Uh Oh.

I spotted something a bit off on the cab car.

The cab end should be on the other end of the car.

I bet no one other then the Amtrak freak like me would have noticed it. I didn’t even notice it until just now.

OK…I have no clue how you tell the difference on that however I can put the face on either end. Actually the trucks are incorrect as well but it’s the overall look I was after…

Look at the car windows.

You’ll notice more room from the window to the vestibule on one end. This is the non cab end. There also was a 10th half window on the non cab end of the car. So (with the 10th half window) actually not as much room between the window and vestibule as on a regular Amfleet.

Yeah I wasn’t going to bug you about the trucks. The real cab cars were actually old Metroliners, so they did not have Amfleet trucks.

But who really cares about minor nit picky details. You have the overall look down perfect.

Rooster,

It looks like a nice choo-choo, to me.

Rooster,

Here’s another ugly Amcrash trainset you should model!

Craig - Is that the rebuild of the NYS Turbo? I rode the original version and wasn’t impressed. There was only one short section West of Albany where it was able to get up to 100. I heard they scraped the rebuild a short time after its debut as another NYS DOT failure.

I notice in that picture it’s missing the power car at the head end, replaced by a couple of Genesis units.

Nope, that would be the new Spanish made Talgo train they use out west on the Casscade service .

What you need to build now is a cabbage car!

Jon,

The picture is the train in transit, but Amcrash will be using the a single genesis unit in service. As Rooster said it’s the new Talgo that the state of Oregon owns for the Eugene-Vancouver,BC run. It’s supposed to be more aerodynamic than the old cab cars, but it’s ugly. THe ugly end is just the cab car end, and power will be generally the a single genesis unit.

That white nose won’t stay white too long after they hit the first animal or person. :frowning:

Thought about it…but a lot of work for a cab controlled baggage unit …I really should have another F-40 if I’m gonna go that route again. Gotta finish the 1700 car first …Holy crap I have an idea!

Thanks guys!
