Large Scale Central

Building a 1:20 Mikado

Thanks.

I hope to have the final layer of roofing in place for Marty’s. And maybe re-quarter the wheels. I don’t think I’ll have time to complete much else - it’s a busy week ahead.

Gee, the closeups look sooooo good. I would never put closeups of my work on line!

Bruce, all I can say is you are a master!

That’s going to be a very impressive loco when it’s finished!

Startin to look like something now, Bruce. That’s gonna be one good looking engine when it’s done.

Fantastic job, Bruce.
You are getting your money’s worth from the rivit press.
Ralph

He’s going around the house adding rivets to everything–the curtains, the newspaper: the dog’s collar has rivets. Retirement’s been rough

Bruce that looks fantastic

This locomotive doesn’t fit in any of my existing carriers. Since I plan to take it to Marty’s (as is), I needed some good way to transport it. So, another carrier was built. This one is 40 inches long.

It still needs some clean up, but the rivets are embossed and the outer layer of the roof is in place.

I’ll also be adding some half round and some other details.

Oh man, now I’m excited. I’m excited to have a chance to see the progress.

Try not to Climax Bruce all over Marty's garage floor or whatever the heck it was you wrote somewhere that I can't find! Bruce, It's too cool! Have a good time at Marty's guys ;)

Well, with the trip canceled, it did give me a bit of time to finish the cab roof.

Bruce, the cab looks great but, I wish you’d stop showing those perfect rivets cause I can’tafford the riviter now

I think I'll just send him my styrene, a rivet spec sheet and an IOU for some craft beer :D

If he’s open to that can I jump on the wagon when I need mine done?

You don’t have enough beer.

Did somebody say beer???

All I can say is Holy Cow!! The whole build is great and the precision riveting is stunning!!!
Can’t wait to see more progress.
Dave

I went down a couple of wrong paths on the pistons, but I have finally got them sliding smoothly.

I still need to finish up back side a bit.

Why? Will you be able to see the back side without turning the loco up side down ?

That looks great

Re: the beer ------------ You don’t have enough storage space
