Thanks Joe,

How did you make it larger?

I used the insert video button and pasted the link.

Tommy,

I embedded it. Also the Youtube URL must be https for all of us to see it!

Video Embedding

This topic has to be re-mastered every time the site owner makes an upgrade to the software. For this incarnation the procedure is…

  1. Grab the embed code from the YouTube video (directly on the video) right click in OPERA (copy embed code); right click in FireFox (Copy embed code); right click in Chrome (get embed code);right click in IE (get embed code).

  2. In the reply window click on “insert/edit video” button in the top row (looks like a movie frame), and select “Embed”.

  3. Paste the embed code (copied from YouTube) in the box and click “OK”.

That’s what we all found works now. Some day down the road we will have to find a new way for new software, but for now this works. Have fun!

Photo inserting

  1. Start by uploading your photos to a server. You have storage space in the Freight Shed on this web site.
  2. After they are uploaded, click on the file you want to open.
  3. Once it is opened, RIGHT click on the picture and select copy image location. DO NOT use the url in the address bar of your browser.
  4. Next click on the insert photo button in your post and paste the image location in the source line.
  5. Look at the dimensions. You will see them if you click on the first box (height). Make it 800 then click on the second box and it will automatically be correctly scaled.
  6. Then hit OK and your photo will be in your post.

Recovery is going good and slow. Work is hectic, but I found some time to work on the CPH. Tidied up the wiring a little and added the side rods.

An operational drive train is a very good thing! (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)

Started working on the headlight and realized I didn’t have (or lost) a clear plastic lens. So I used my circle cutter to cut a new one. This circle cutter came in vary useful as I used it to scribe some of the pieces I needed to build the Danforth Cooke Sand and Steam domes.

I need to add the TOP to finish the steam dome. I didn’t have any 1/2" tubing and my hardware store didn’t have any. Walking through the irrigation aisle I came across this elbow (Upside down in the picture). Cut the barb end off, stuck threaded part into my drill press and sanded the fitting part round. Then I drilled it out and using tape as a guide cut it in 2 places. A little sanding and I have my steam dome top. Here is what the CPH Locomotive mocked up looks at the moment. Waiting on lead flashing to start adding some weight.

Very ingenious! The engine is looking wonderful.

Pretty damn impressive Tommy.

Doc

very cool, the Delton one is on EBay for sale @ $5000.00+

On to the headlight. Thanks to Dave Bodnar’s LED Article “LEDs 104 - A Better Constant Brightness Circuit for LEDs” it was accomplished. Using a Warm White LED from a string of Christmas Lights, I solder some wires and added a CL2N3-G LED Driver to the positive wire. Drilled a couple of holes and hooked it up. Now I can take it apart and paint it.

So I almost have her bolted together. The smoke box still needs to be secured. With lead weight in the smoke box and boiler it was time for her maiden run. Put her on the track and she did the full outer loop no problem. Went in to get the phone to record, and she started have problems. Since I have a few other issues to take care of I pulled her off the track and back into the Pedo Factory for repairs.

  1. No light

  2. Derailment issues

  3. Readjust steam and sand dome. Steam and sand dome looked good in mockup. but now that they are bolted down they are little wonky.

  4. Speaker sound distortion.

All in all it was great to see her go around the complete outer loop on her own.
