Check out the results of the photo contest.
To my eye the two second place entries and third place got robbed. (I personally don’t know any of these gentlemen.)

Congratulations to Bruce and also 3rd place Kevin Strong. I believe Kevin posted that same picture here.

To be completely honest I have met and spoken with Kevin at a couple of LGB conventions. He was between ages 5 to 10 at the time!

's alright. I’ve already got the 2-6-0 and 4-4-0 on the roster, so at least I don’t have the guilt associated with seeming unappreciative by selling off a prize. Not that I really need another flat car, either, but at least I don’t have to put batteries and R/C in it. On the other hand, if I build the excursion car from it that I’m thinking about, I’ll spend the same amount of money putting passengers in the seats.
Congrats to everyone.
Later,
K
Congrats Kevin and Bruce. Very nice shots.
All great photos. Great job Kevin & Bruce
Thanks. It was certainly a pleasant surprise to open up that page and see my picture there among all those other great pictures. But, yes, it will be converted to something a tad more modern, much like what Bob has pictured.
Congrats to the other winners as well. We need to recruit more of them to post their work here at LSC!

“To my eye”…That’s probably why they didn’t ask you to be a freaking judge. I would have judged those a bit differently. Now, I know Kevin. Have for years. But, having submitted photos to Master Horovitz, and knowing what to look for (in addition to lots of photography work in my younger days), TWO different layers of fencing behind the train (see it? wood or bamboo and wire fence…) the “cowcatcher” at least a scale foot off the rails, whistle leaning towards Norway.

Composition, composition, composition. I would have had some order somewhat different, but all-in-all, looks fair to me. The first place winners have composition, no fences, pilot steps look good, clean background, good roadbed and track appearance.

But, Bruce, when I open the photo up BIG, you really need to get those windoze fixed before winter.

Dave,
Are you incapable of starting a post without quoting me? Opinions are like, well you know what they say, we each have one. I can’t help it that yours is bigger. Butt then again I was never in the Navy!

Well Jack,
Looks like quoting you is a very rewarding enterprise.
BTW since you started it:
Two guys who seldom see eye to eye get into a “discussion”
one (in exasperation): “I just don’t believe it!!!”
two: “What is it?”
#1: “Never mind, how are your piles?”
#2: “I don’t have any!!!”
#1; “Should have figured that! Perfect a…hole!!!”
Yep…shouldn’t have used Lexan for those windows. I may have to break out the clear styrene…
