We are trying to get Shawn to understand Cale, but them young-uns don’t pay no mind.
Who, in his/her/it’s correct mind, would bother trying to run trains in snow, high winds, and at temperatures below freezing…?
We tried that years ago, and it isn't worth the effort.
It’s best to stay in, by a warming fire, with a good book; good friends, and a warming drink in one’s hand.
Winter is a time for indoor activities. A time to do the much needed maintenance on rolling stock, buildings, and yes…time to research new ideas, and socialise with friends.
Those that live in warmer climes, can keep operating, but Winter, as I know it, gives a person a greater appreciation of Summer, Spring, and Fall. Winter is a break for resting up and preparing for a fresh new season, in 2011.
Merry Christmas, a safe and healthy holiday to everyone; and of course, a wish for a great 2011, of many days of outdoor operation with good friends.
I had the stomach bug last night and was hoping to get the trains out but everytime I ventured out to get the trains going my body kept telling me “it ait happing today Shawn.” Cal the effort was their for you. It was a perfect scale snow for running

Ken do you have a small layout in the back of your truck? Someone did this I beleive on that micro layout web site. That would be cool.

Besides, the less time I spend in it, the better. A layout wouldn’t help…
Coming up now on day 4 of solid rain, we’ve had 3-1/2inches so far and the worst is in the next 2 days, but its a southerly storm so its warmer than usual, avg around 60. it was sunny over 80 degrees just a week ago
By the time this rain is finished I’ll have to spend a few days reballasting and releveling track!
