I think they look right
These signs are printed out on the laser, and then attached to a thin aluminum sheet using a non-shrinking resin-based adhesive. They will dry in about 24 hours, I will then trim them to size, and re-coat them with more clear resin. Then attach them to the gates.
Thanks for sharing that technique. Nice to add to the tool bag.
Got a name of this stuff?
PC Clear, got it off of amazon
If you would like to spend some money on paper, Avery makes labels for industrial products that must meet federal safety legislation and not fall off.
I think this had been sitting outside for 5 years before it got called in for terrarium duty.
It’s not cheap. So I loaded each page with all the signage I could think of and printed off a proof of concept before loading the paper.
Bob, are you printing on paper or on decal sheets?
Seems appropriate here…
Those avery labels look like something to play with.
I am printing on paper. I tried some similar labels (ones made for garden plant labels) but they faded after a couple of years. I’ll have to give those labels a try.
Hard to get a picture mid-assembly, but this is the overall design of the 10’ high metal high-security fence. Will be painted some kind of industrial green.
Work (slowly) continues. I have the other half of the gate figured out. Sandwiched a brass tube with the hinge bit in between two I-beam supports. I need about 40 more scale feet of this security wall, and I want to include a man door in it at some point.
That works. Nice fix.
don’t forget to ask your wife for a piece of a broken chain. silver is best, that gets “rusty” by just laying it on a slice of cooked egg. (on the white)
and a padlock.
Korm,
I picked you as a romantic the moment I read your first post. Breakfast in bed and jewellery. She’s a lucky gal.
Just Incase you are getting real picky on labels , the fence or building should include one of these
If you want to get hyper realistic, I see fences all the time where the chain link has been cut and a piece of chain link is tied over the break in spot
well, since my camera is now frightened enough to work again - this is, what i had in mind, when i mentioned a padlock:
