Craig, Thanks for the info but all the track I am putting down now is aluminum… It’s cheaper than brass, and noone is going to step on it in the basement at 45 inches off the floor… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

When the weather turns warmer I will be working on the switchback up the hill… That will be a mix of brass and Stainless, but I have all that in the basement…

We got a chance to see the trackage of the indoor ops on last Friday night. Even ran a train around the loop. Its been 5 months since we had a chance to see the railroad and a lot of work has been done. This will really help for Friday night ops and when the weather is to hostile to enjoy being outside on a Ops weekend. Andy’s track work and Jane’s sky painting, plus the buildings both of them are working on is going to really make this a nice addition to the overall Bluestone Southern track plan. Looking forward to seeing the Train Schedule, instructions and working some of the switching puzzles.

.

Lots of progress and gives me incentive to get busy on my projects.

Decided 2 weeks ago, to move the tablesaw and other equipment up to the garage from the basement… This allowed us to start working on the bench work for the peninsula to the indoor part of the layout…

below is a shot of the end of the tables for upper part of the layout and the lower part of the freight yard extension for outside operations…

The lower level will have a 10 ft diameter curve on it and, a ladder track on the left side for the Yard extension…

The shot below shows the right side of the bench work…

The area between the bench work and the floor mats will be the location of the upper level trestle loop.

Currently, where the freight cars are on the top level will eventually be a mountain extending all along the inside aisle of the peninsula…

Where the trestle will be, there will be a waterfall fall off the mountain flowing down below the trestle… Current plans are for a 12-14 inch high base on the floor to make the base of the mountain and the trestle work to sit on… This will basically provide the base and a solid ““kick Plate”” so if anyone happens to stumble a bit, they only kick the base and not any scenery…

Below shot shows the inside aisle of the peninsula…

Too cool. I always marvel at your cloud backdrops. That and the sheer volume of cars that you store there - and then you want us to believe that you know where everything is - BUT you DO! (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Is there a ceiling in your future?

Looks good! Glad to see you are keeping busy. I know going to Mass slows down your progress, but its important you get right with your inner self.(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Amazing!

but i ask myself, how somebody can have so much layout(s) so orderly…

Korm

I thought you were going to volunteer to build the mountain , if he could get you there! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Korm, Every time we have visitors, the wife cleans up… Unfortunately, it takes me about 3 months to relocate my tools… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Bruce, I have absolutely, positively, zero plans to do the ceiling… Of course, the wife might have other plans… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Well, tell Jane that you CAN get acoustic tile in a sky pattern! (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif)

Bob really needs to figure out a way so that I can X out the above line so Jane can’t read that… hehehe (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Wait…let me quote it again so it will live in infamy…

I guess I’ll probably hear more about it at the October BS Ops… (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif)

well, i build for eternity. that takes an eternity too. mountains need to grow slooowly!

i don’t think, Andy would like to have a house-guest for one or two years.

as his answer to me indicates, he isn’t used to frequent visitors…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

As easy as they seem clouds are very difficult to paint. Bonus is mom is doing them on a wall not a ceiling

Dad tell mom to check out “Joe Mural” on youtube and good luck!

I still want the $20 you owe me and then some …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXiQtD5gcHU

Well, some addition work has been done with the Inside Portion of the layout… Jane has been mostly working on the buildings during rainy and cold weather…

The area that we have been working on is the town area of the Layout as the pictures below will indicate.

Below is a shot of the Coke-Cola Plant on the south end of town… The red building is the Coke plant… There is a street running from the wall to the inside of the layout

that will be 2 lanes wide with diagonal parking on both sides of the street… On the right side starts the business area of the town with a pet shop(blue building on the corner)

on the corner and an apartment building (red building with black trim/windows) next to it…

Next to the apartment building is a Barber Shop (gray with Blue trim) and on the North corner is a bar (which is the green building).

There will be a 2 lane street along the front of the buildings with No parking on that street…

heading further North will be another town block of merchants and such with another 2 lane road separating the blocks and parking…

Along the front of that block will be a one way road heading up towards the passenger station.

A picture to see the passenger station and some warehouses past the station…

Below is a picture of the foam style building fronts that Jane painted… She did exceptional work with the brick…

Found some 1/4 inch thick pvc sheets at Home Depot that I am using as building foundations and sidewalks…

The streets are poster board from Hobby Lobby… Streets are no lined as of yet… Street lines will be Auto Detail pin striping…

That’s it for now… (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
