Large Scale Central

Bill’s first Mik entry 2024

That’s on my to do list. I never could quite figure out the supposed connection between the table saw vacuum outlet and a shop vac hose. If I had one complaint about the Byrnes product it would be this.

I ended up chopping off a step down adapter and it kinda works but a right angle one would be a bit better.

It’s probably already posted on the Cooking with Sinsley thread…

…under finger foods.

Personally, I’m avoiding any recipes for Halloween.

oh, i guess, we won’t have to wait long for that.
he seems to be, what we call in german a “Unfäller” - an accident prone person. (must be, because he’s always thinking about the next project, instead of thinking about his fingers) :face_with_head_bandage:

Korm

Are you saying the Mik catch phrase should be…

Come for the Large Scale builds.
Stay for the Schadenfreude ?

definitely - yes.
.

hmmm - seems that my english is worse, than i thought, if i gave that impression.

It’s probably my German.

I will be “gooping” the next set of windows but here is my canopy glue trial run. I took the glass protective coating off only the glued side first.

I had a little glue misadventure. Resulting from the glue sticking to the protective coating.

But it cleaned up well. Just lifted up.

What I liked about Canopy Glue, was the easy clean up, the ability to load it into a dental syringe, and absence of stringiness. What I found a bit difficult was a bit of ooze when glass pressed onto frame. So the lesson is Less is More.

Good to see your careful and honest feedback on using these various adhesives.

I’m glued to my computer waiting for the next episode!

As somewhat of an expert on the subject I prefer arterial. Brighter color, more rapid production, pressurized delivery, and less chance of it clogging the spray nosel

Wonder if MIK was ever concerned with the physical hazard of these challenges. BTW doc said to come back in 12 to 14 days to have stitches removed. I removed them after 8 with the same knife that inflicted the wound. What does she know,

Can’t even tell anything happened.

ouch!
as a former first responder, apart from the color, these are exactly the reasons, why i not preferred arterial.

ps: with all these cuts, don’t you get identity problems? from distorted fingerprints?

I have often wondered about that. Last time I was fingerprinted was 1989 when I joined the Marine Corp Reserves. Since then I was employed as a meat cutter part time for 5 or 6 years and then work and hobby related injuries have been injured. I can’t imagine my finger prints look anything like what they did in 1989.

Korm, all kidding aside, I am glad my clutzy accident prone wreck less endeavors have been limited to not only fingers but finger tips. Save two, I sliced both palms just below the first joint of the thumbs. Very very deep on separate occasions. Both left the sides of my thumbs without feeling. Fortunately neither had lasting circulatory issues but both created lasting neurological damamige. Leaving the sides of my thumbs numb. My left thumb recovered. But at least 30 years later my right thumb still has no surface feeling on the surface of the out side. Nothing more than a novelty as it causes me no problem and I only really notice it when I think about it and rub my thumb. I have full use.

But arterial bleeding is no joke, even though we are joking about it. I stabbed my index finger cutting meat and there was a very thin hair like stream of pulsing blood that shot across the room. Again at the end of the day nothing serious but it’s not right watching your blood shoot 8 to 10 feet under pressure. I am glad we are having fun with my injury but we all (myself more than anyone) need to remember it only takes once to be a very bad situation

With that recovery rate! You actually may be a minor superhero. Either that, or Vic’s reputation is overrated. (Not that I’m suggesting that there be a completion to see if Vic could finish a build before you heal from a wound… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:).

Call it fate or just good genetics but I have two very fortunate attributes. My blood clots fast and I heal fast. Would it be a super hero trait or a stupid moron trait I’ll leave it up to you. If I were to be a super hero I would want to be bullet proof not heal quickly from bullet wounds. I am far far from bullet proof but I am thankful I heal quickly from my super moron/accident prone behavior.

No worries Bill, confidentially my project was pretty much done before Devon did his Julia Child impersonation :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I forgot all about that bit. How funny. I can relate.

This is all so disturbing. You’re forcing me to recall a certain event in my younger days that I was hoping to recover from…

Here Cliff,
Hold my petrol can and my shingles.

Apologies Devon, it’s the best defence I could come up with for you.

Scarlet Sinsley is now my go to railway colour. Hope you trademarked it, and not Cliff!
