Back to School Challenge?

who cares about workbench-space?

for years now, my workbenches double as storage for building materials and tools (my wife calls it heaps of junk)

the actual building spaces are the yet unfinished parts of the layout.

well, this here being a schoolproject, i made an exception.

i am almost ready to go!

Korm,

Is it just me or does it appear that on the left and the right that you are employing shoring to hold back the “heap of junk” to prevent it from sloughing into the clean area.

I to am glad that others have the same issue of work benches doubling as storage spaces. . . that’s a better way of saying collecting junk.

well, one does, what one has to do…

OK Sean asked for it so here it is a clean shop. And yes this is nearly spotless by my definition. And just for the record the area behind the table saw toward the door is where the wife piles her “heap of junk” Although my rolling wood cart is occupying a large portion of it.

There is one key angle that was intentionally passed over and that is looking toward the south where the ShopSmith is still in pieces in need of repair; tha area is still a little messy but not bad.

poor Devon!

i hope, you’ll find all the things, you must have stowed away.

I have more crap than I can shake a stick at. If I would go through those shelves and the stuff under the work bench I might be amazed at what I might find.

I use the archeology method of searching for my stuff. If I can remember how long ago I used it, I know how deep to dig for it.

Steve, yea, I do the same thing. My mom doesn’t understand how I “know” where something is, but I usually do, within a pile or two.

Wow

You have a Garage! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

I have to take my saws outside to cut!

I am actually pretty lucky, I do have a garage and it is decently enough outfitted. When I keep it clean it is a nice work space. Add to that that I have a quaint (nice word for small) man cave also where I can work. My wife pretty much rules the roost but I had one stipulation when we bought a house and that was I had to have a shop. It took a few years to get it built but I have one. I work on everything from our broken appliances to furniture, to cars, to lawn and garden equipment, to my hobbies. I told here I had to have a space and tools to do it or everything got bought new when it broke. I have a shop.

.

This thread seams to have kinda gone to sleep.

I have finally finished with certain other obligations and honey doos, and tonight I actually went in search of my workbench. It wasn’t as buried as I thought it was, and in a few short minutes I had my normal work area (about half of the workbench) cleared off. Now I need to pick one of the many projects, that have been languishing, to do. I guess I should start with the ones that are on the workbench. They weren’t aged quite 6 months when this challenge started, but they must be beyond that by now.

Or, am I too late to get in on this…thing?

Never to late to join the fun. I need to get at it to.

Well, today after setting up my module with my club, I will see what I can dive into.

David,

regarding, how much progress the other participants have reported up till now…

… i would say, you are not late, but early.

LOL, yea. Well, I have been busy myself, so I can understand where the other participants are coming from.

“Never to late to join the fun. I need to get at it to.”

Never TOO late to join the fun. I need to get at it TOO.

Sheesh, it’s so simple.

Ok Fred.

Fine with me, David…are we having fun yet ?

There a two too many forms of the word, so to those who are the grammar police I apologize… actually Joe, like I have said to Fred (that rhymes) I never mind being corrected on my grammar. I admit it is horrible and if someone corrects me enough it just might stick.

Devon, I have had folks correct me all my life, and I still aint gots it. But I has a excuse. I used to work in a school distric where engalish was a second language. That and my dyslexia makes it difficult for me to tell some words from other words sometimes.

Glad to help. For an aspiring author the proper use of the language is essential.
