Bachmann G Scale Trains On TrainWorldTV

Here is a new video of some Bachmann G Scale Trains. Winston, Eggliner, Speeders, And More! Big thanks to Jack and Bachmann for letting me show their product.

Would love to get a Winston for Wallace and Grommet.

I see the eggliner has Aristo couplers still!

Greg

So, hopefully, it still has the Aristo motor block.

It does have the Aristo motor block

There was a rumor that it would be a different block and different mold… as before I maintain it would economically infeasible for Bachmann/Kader to spend the money to do this.

Well, I was going to say it would be incredibly stupid for Bachmann to ship these with Aristo couplers, as they are not compatible with standard Bmann knuckles, but then this is also the same company that sold the Lil Big Hauler line with couplers that were incompatible with anything else in the Big Hauler line.

Well, its Kader, and they do what they want. Hopefully they look at what was historically a good seller for Aristo, and have Bachmann bring back some of those items.

Yep, the easiest path, just make more Aristo and sell it through Bachmann… well, guess what that means? Possibly the ability to buy more Aristo couplers?

Hmmm…

Greg

It seems however that they have modified the shell and the roof of the Eggliner, to make them single pieces. No seams are to be seen on the video. Unless they have filled them for the showpieces only.

I heard that rumor, wondered who was spreading it. Eggliners are painted and you don’t see the seam. I have an Aristo eggliner that shows no visible seams on the outside. Mine is made from 2 pieces. The seams are painted over.

The “shell” and “roof” are NOT separated horizontally, the eggliner is made from 2 ends of a streamline observation car separated vertically, not a single top and single bottom part.

It would be unbelievable that Kader would make an entirely new mold for this (and mind you a complex one) and not change the couplers to Bachmann. Way too much money for too little return. Molds cost a lot.

No offense, but no way.

there must be two different styles of the Aristocraft eggliner then…because many of them had a very visable seam:

Besides the video being out of focus for the closeups of the speeder and eggliner, has anyone considered this:

  1. The Eggliners have NOT been made yet, otherwise they would be available in stores.

  2. Clearly that is a handpainted version, again if it was production, they would already be here.

  3. paying closer attention to the video, notice the green top is matte, and the decoractions are NOT the same as previous production:

But we will see, often the “proof of concept” piece is a little different from production. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Greg

I was told It will be the same as the Aristo Egg Liner. Block, Couplers etc…

Ken that gives those of us hoping for a return of Aristo products a small glimmer of hope.

Bachmann modified the eggliner motor block, to add the NMRA/LGB direction switch.

Greg

The switch has been added, but I don’t think the block itself has been modified.

But the eggliner has been modified. Instead of 2 castings, the body is now just one casting. No seam.

Note the Aristocraft knuckle couplers on the thing. the Bachmann rep said that they may come out with their version of the Egg Hauler.

Interesting, I saw the video where they talked about the switch, but no good picture.

Makes more sense where they put it, no mods to the block.

Surprising about the shell, from what I know about injection molding, that cannot be one piece without a much more complex mold.

Sure would like to see the ends, and the underside picture does not let you see the ends to check if there are mold lines there.
