Large Scale Central

Another useless post from Rooster

I recently got a Hornby OO scale model of the (British) Southern Railway’s “Battle of Britain” class passenger locomotive. The streamlining of this locomotive featured a boxy look with rounded corners, which caused British rail enthusiasts to nickname the locomotive “the Spam can”. If one of these locomotives got used for passenger trains in the current U.S.A., would it then be referred to as “Spamtrak”?

Nice idea Dave. Looked it up, but only found this.

OK…who’s got the balls to show this to Eric’s boy…^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yeah, but now Herself and I are going to have to learn to ski!

That’s really going to affect Eric’s budget if Kidzilla notices the carriages in the photo. :innocent:

EDIT: Apparently kind of bigger news as there’s some significant plans for expansion in another article that just popped up on my news feed. Its great to hear the government is investing in expanding rail infrastructure and leasing the tunnel for 25 years thus increasing both passenger and freight through the mountains.

Haha that’s down the road a bit from me

Rooster;

I remember waiting to catch a GG1 pulled passenger train home at PRR’s Lancaster, PA passenger station way back during my college days. I stood on the platform with the toes of my shoes right on the edge of the yellow line. When that big locomotive with those big cooling blowers passed, I could feel the irresistible pull from the blower intake vents. I stepped back quickly!

Very cool. This is a little closer to him though… well, a tiny bit.

I do! And he said “Wow!”

Not Amtrak!!

I’ve kind of lost track of where we left off……

Amtrak GP-38-2 in Sanford Florida used to spot cars for the Auto Train. Amtraks longest passenger train , and Amtraks ONLY non stop train ,it does make a stop for engineer swap , but it’s not a station stop , no passengers on , but recently they had police there to remove a drunk and disorderly passenger

The big question: Where is the Rooster???

roo3

INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW:
Whatever happened to that rooster?

Never heard of the guy myself.
:rooster:

The ghost of Boomer , asks where is Rooster? That’s funny !!
Boomer , what’s up dude?!!!
