I call all them boxy looking diesel-lectric things “powered boxcars”. But that one really is a powered boxcar. I wouldn’t mind having a model of that on my pike.

Hi Joe. Thanks for the feedback! Your engine looks great…nice work on the painting and masking!

Jeff, THANK YOU!!
Those masks were so easy to use. They did the great job for me on this engine. I’ll try the negative versions on the ends.
I forgot that you sent me the number masks and I could have used them on the cab. Shrap!

Sweet!

I was trying to capture the look of that massive cooling area and grille work. I started with plastic, switched to brass, and then decided to go back with plastic.

Although it could be better, I said it’s good enough. I’ve got to move forward and go on with my next big project!!

Looking good Joe. Do you have a better pic or two of the massive cooling area and grills ?

Lewiston, eh? You’re in my part of the world, Joe… I hope you’re coming to the East Coast LS Train Show in March, and if you do, bring this puppy along to the Bring and Brag so we can take a good look at her … I know at least four LSC guys who for sure will want to discuss this kind of model building, painting, and lettering with you.
Cheers from an old-time steamie!

Thank you for the welcome!
I’ve only made it there once, years ago. It’s about a five and 1/2 hour drive from here.
and I don’t drive anymore!
I am always trying to talk my girl into going again. I just missed the fall show.
I will try now for the spring one. I want to meet the boss! …and the crew!

Great work there Joe.I was hoping for shop pics of how you made them as I’m always trying to glean little tips and tricks out of the builds.Hope you make it to the ECLSTS with this in tow. Always good to put a face to a name.

I’m honored that you guys would ask me how I made it!
I took pics of a lot of the stuff so I could show most of it. I think I did??
I don’t want to show all exclusive trade secrets incase of submarine captains prowling around trying to derail my work!!.. again.
Anyone else I’d share with… that is.
I’d also be honored to meet with you guys!

Hope you can make it, Joe. You have a great candidate for the Drag & Brag!

Beautiful set of engines…
