Anchorage Daily News endorses Obama

The Anchorage (Alaska) Daily News endorsed Obama on Oct. 25, 2008:

Gov. Palin’s nomination clearly alters the landscape for Alaskans as we survey this race for the presidency — but it does not overwhelm all other judgment. The election, after all is said and done, is not about Sarah Palin, and our sober view is that her running mate, Sen. John McCain, is the wrong choice for president at this critical time for our nation.

Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee, brings far more promise to the office. In a time of grave economic crisis, he displays thoughtful analysis, enlists wise counsel and operates with a cool, steady hand. The same cannot be said of Sen. McCain.

And tell me what do you expect from the left wing media? The Media relected Bubba in '96 so I would expect nothing else from the Media. They have been biased for more years that you can count!

And if BHO is elected, hang on to your seat and your money because he wants it ALL!

Paul

The Anchorage, Alaska, Daily News is “the left wing media?” Really?

Mike, Papers are SUPPOSED to report UNBIASED truth, NOT support Obama, McCain, or even Bozo the Clown. Who really CARES who the OWNER of whatever rag endorses, by printing it, it IS still classic yellow journalism…

If they had endorsed McCain, would YOU have mentioned it? No? Then why mention it now? I’m sure there are people in Chicago who think (know?) Obama is a sleazeball., too

Sheesh Mik, where did you hear that one? If that would be true you’d need just one paper (Pravda would do), one TV network (StarSpangledTV sounds good), one radio network (Voice of America domestic edition). You’d be all set!

Oh, one more thing … most of the populace wouldn’t need brains, the thinking would be left to the horses, since they have larger heads! :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Dontcha guys know?

Any group that doesn’t give the Right Wing exactly whatever it wants handed to them on a silver plate, must by default be Left Wing flag waving communist. Its a pefect blame game, if you are not for us, you must be against us, and in the absolutist terms these people see the world, that MUST mean they are commies.

Oh I’m loving watching these last couple weeks on the “left wing” media (Hahahaha, I’m sure Rubert Murdoch loves being called a lefty), its been so much fun watching the Far Right going into an absolute TIZZY FIT cause they ain’t gonna get there way this time and are beginning to act like a spoiled and infuriated 3 year old not getting his way in the sandbox. " NO NO NO NO NO…WHaaaaaah"

Repubs had their chance, they had the Senate, the Congress, the White House, the Supreme Court, thjey had the best chance they have had in a Century, and they STILL completely blew it worse than any administration since Herbert Hoover!

…time to step aside, let someone else take the helm.

I knew it. I just KNEW IT.

Victor IS a card carrying Com…pletely independent Liberal.

You just figger that out, Tony? Yer a little slow on the uptake, aren’t you? Heck, I’ve known that for at least a year… :stuck_out_tongue:

Steve I have figured out that you will be devastated on Nov 4th.

Have you worked why yet?
The real reason, not some wishful thinking excuse.

No, The Obama campaign and supporters have dismissed everyone who doesn’t intend to vote for Mr Wonderful as racist, redneck, clinging to guns and religion, unenlightened, unintelligent, yada, yada…

There used to be an AMERICAN song (WAAAAAAAY back in the dark ages (1942) when it was STILL allowable to love YOUR country AND God, WITHOUT being looked down upon by some “enlightened” cretin) titled “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition”… I find it soooooo very amusing that Liberals claim to embrace EVERY creed … except one. And since they don’t have the MORAL high ground, if you don’t agree with them you’re a stupid neandertal, or worse. Now where’s my bible and ammo?

I guess that means MIK will be devastated on Nov 4th too.

Disappointed? Yes. Devastated? No.

Sadly I’ve come to expect much of the populace to act like sheep. They are too busy with their own little troubles to worry about the big picture. Obama has promised a bunch of pretty sounding “gimmees”…that’s all they really care about. They’ll worry about paying the piper after the dance… unless they can blame THAT on the repuglicans too.

People who vote either way based upon sound careful reasoned thought I can respect. – People who vote for superficial reasons, or in knee-jerk fashion WITHOUT thinking really need to sit through a civics class again. Or maybe put in a couple years foreign service in a country where people DON’T have a choice…

Walsham why are you so concerded about the election in a country on the other side of the world? I’m just curious as to your reason.

For the rest of you, guess what will happen next year with the ultra-left in charge and command? At least we will not need to go bail so body else out of a disaster, we’ll be one ourselves!

Paul

Tony’s worried about himself…if the economy in the US improves TOO much the exchange rate will tip the other way and his stuff will be more 'spensive here…so he’ll sell less

Conservatives now hoping for disaster after Nov. 4. Interesting

Paul.
The rest of the World is concerned about just who is going to be President of the USA and by default the “Free” World.

When the USA sneezes we catch cold.
If there had not been the collapse of the USA housing market and the subsequent financial fallout that has seen the demise of Wall Street and the introduction of pseudo Socialist polices to try and fix the problem, Australia, and the rest of the World, would not be going through the turmoil we all now are.
Never mind the incumbent lot sucking in other nations to go and fight in an illegal war in Iraq against a foe that had nothing to do with the heinous events of 9/11. Many brave servicemen from many countries have died in that conflict. A conflict that enabled the “enemy” to get the Coalition of the willing to fight on two fronts. Not the best way to fight any war.

That is why.
I want to see change. Not more of the same.

BTW, I make no comment on USA domestic issues that do not affect me.

MIK. Perhaps you should pay more attention to the exchange rate. The Australian dollar has dropped from US.98c in July to US.61c today. This means it costs the USA importers a lot less to bring RCS products into the USA now. Hence I am already selling more.

If the USA economy improved any more and the US$ appreciated further I would be even happier.

Paul,

I can think of quite a few countries that will have a collective sigh of relieve at the prospect of not “being bailed out”.
