That’s looking great Bruce. The hinges really make it. I see nothing wrong with purple. After all Barney is purple

Bird poop after they eat some berries? Now thats modeling detail!
Barney sucks, and so does purple;)
There is, it seems, an ideal product being grown in Ontario Canada to fill this reefer - apparently the Eurozone is generally hostile to GM foods -and that is purple tomatoes. They are for juicing it seems.
Painted using some acrylics and the airbrush.
Finally got all the details in place. Roof walks are basswood stained with India Ink/alcohol mix.
The decals are from Bart, who had a slightly different color scheme.
I ended up just using reefer white and some basic black.
Nice job, Bruce:)
Nice work, Bruce, but I’m a little let down due to the lack of purple paint (LOPP). When I went to Lowe’s to get paint for my station, there was a whole bunch of purple paint marked down!
Whew…looks a lot better in that color. Nice job.
Where the hell’s all your snow? We got another 6" yesterday…
Just finished the decals one side of mine.
They has some next door to him in WVa Ken. If Roanoke VA is any guide then they have has little this year: I have only noticed two small dustings.
Thanks, guys.
Lou, there’s more than enough purple on this reefer! (Well, at least for me.) Too much purple paint on prototype (TMPPOP). But heck, I thought the corners were a nice touch.
I decided to do that when I saw that the “prototype” was red & yellow, but had black corner pieces.
Ken, we don’t believe in snow down south…
Well, at that rate, your bottle of purple paint ought to last a long time!

BS, I’ve spent the night on 95 down there in a blizzard …what they don’t believe in is plowing the roads…
What in the heck is “artificial ice” made of?
Bruce, another fantastic looking Reefer…
Came out nice Bruce, and I noticed that MicroMark sells artificial ice if you would like to fill it.

Heh…never thought of that before…
I found this from the Artificial Ice Company in Ann Arbor, Michigan:
Before the days of electric refrigerators, people kept perishable foods in ice chests cooled by blocks of ice. For most of Ann Arbor’s early history, the ice was harvested from frozen lakes and rivers. But after 1909, natural ice was supplemented, and then totally replaced by, artificial ice, so named because it was manufactured rather than gathered.
At least it isn’t “Yellow” Ice.
