A Grist Mill-Part 2

Thanks Ken, I appreciate the invitation, but I guess that would be IF we went up 95, but we head more to Gettysburg and Rt. 81 to go to Hazelton, however you never KNOW, we may take you up on it? Would be great to see your layout and buildings in person. I’ll drop you a note when it gets closer… Elaine

sounds like a plan…

Looks good Ken.

Ken, what are you using to attach the rock to the coroplast?

Terry

Goop’s been pretty succesful at holding it on.

Ken, what are you going to do for a water wheel and sluice?

I ordered one of each from Stoneworks…

I had originally intended to re-use the wheel off the Pola model, but liked the looks of the Stoneworks wheel.

It’s gettin there…

Beautiful building, Ken…

Looks great Ken. Thanks for the waterwheel info. Did I miss the part on the shingles? Looks good. What are you using?

Thanks for the info.

That’s another Precision Products product. They have cedar shakes, corrugated metal, and regular asphalt shingles in 15" square panels. These are the cedar shakes.

Coming along very nicely, Ken. What are the dimensions? How does that compare to the old mill?

18" H x 12 1/2" L x 10 1/2" W. I think the foot print of both are about the same, This one maybe is a bit longer, and its taller. Once the wheel and sluice are attached it’ll be a tad wider the the Pola mill, by about 6". It’ll fit on the same spot as the other one.

I used the Stoneworks wheel on my Grist Mill also. I really liked how it came out. I did add wood grain detail to the areas that were not covered up by the “wood panels” on the wheel.

Really looking good Ken. I like the water wheels you picked up. Could be a hard choice on which one to use.

One’s the sluice kit and the other is the water wheel kit. I had originally intended to use the wheel off the old mill, but since Shawn put in a claim for it, figgered I leave the old one as is.

In case anyone thought I forgot about this, it took a back burner while I worked on the reefer.

The water wheel…

Damn, that’s a nice looking kit.

I’m confused by the slots vs dots on the sides. What does that mean?
