You have NO IDEA how insanely angry I am right now. I’ve been pondering easing up on my rules for account suspension and moderation, and then THIS happens, and it shows that the few of you act like children at the expense of other users DONT DESERVE a second chance.
WTH just happened ?
somebody pm me
Vic,
See Bob’s post on this thread. I’m trying to read behind the lines as well.
A serious question: What’s worse, the knee jerk reaction of a member making a off hand comment, or the knee jerk reaction of the member receiving said comment?
Wasn’t that off hand, our MIA gave a chance to take it off board…
Dad always said “Be sure brain is engaged before putting mouth into motion.”
Another fine example of people not thinking through how a statement will be received when written in text form with no vocal inflection.Even face to face, what one person says is not always what the other person hears.
The site has lost a fine builder, a good sense of humor and great talent for finding the unique and obscure.
Craig, it is always a lose - lose no matter which one reacts first.
I wish we could get him back somehow. I never got his email - all of my communications were via the messaging here, so I don’t have any way to plead my case. But, dang, he was good and fun.

Having had this sort of thing happen to me on another site, I can say it’s hardly a knee jerk reaction. I know when it happened to me it hurt a LOT. It becomes very personal and I’m not sure how one gets over it. However, I’m hoping that the support of his friends can bring him back. He is a very talented and creative individual and I’m hoping we can bring him back.
Well I am not sure what happened behind the scenes but I thought everyone rallied behind Boomer from the observations and opinions of a fellow member. Not sure why he felt the need to leave when in the end he had far more support than the single detractor (or at least seemingly only one).
To bad as a new member I appreciated Boomer.

I sold an Airwire transmitter to Boomer about a year ago. I got to know him on a personal level and was a great guy. Always loved his sense of humor in the little stories he would tell about his Cibola Railroad. Sorry to see him go. I too, had only messaging through this site to communicate with him. I also never got his email, so I don’t have any way to try to talk him back here. Definitely a big loss to LSC. This seems to happen quite often now days on the few model railroad sites available to us. We ALL need to think before typing on the old keyboard and pressing the ENTER key.
His last stated gripe was; the accusation was in his build log. Johnny ChooChoo wouldn’t delete it. So he excused himself.
Dang it. I hope we can get our brother back.
well, thank you so much, John leForrestier!
by succeding to give this years challenge a sour undertone, you made me regrett a little less not participating this year.
what a pity, that a good fellow and good modeller quit, because of a post full of hot air!
double, sorry
Dang, I really liked that dude…and his build was killing it…my kids love that movie too
Another F’n(3) Sad Day for LSC!
Now his pics of the PIKO Saddletank conversion are gone. @(&$^%@*!
That’s a real shame, I really liked Boomer and his creations.

I have one last thing to say about this affair. (1) I think I can understand how Boomer feels, but he could have chosen to ignore the hot air, like a lot of us do; (2) he could still choose to return to the warm support of his friends here; and, (3) as much as I wish he were to return, I refuse to let this sour my experience of this year’s challenge.
Okay, that’s three things…and tonight I really need to get my car kit put together!
I’m taking a break… from the build.
