I didn’t think to ask… what era is this car running in? Would the bar have a sink with running water? Pretty sure I know the answer but thought I would ask anyway.

Most assuredly this bar would have running water and it would have Tiffany wall sconces, and tilting bottle holders, and fresh fruit slices in a sterling silver lidded serving dish(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Well at least the water is roughed in

Seriously though …“I really need a smaller project/challenge right now” and would like to add a bar module with reclaimed lumber for the coach if possible? Give me the dimensions/parameters and I will ship it to you Bruce. All you will have to do is bolt it in? I got a couple days off work this coming weekend?

Wow - how cool is this! The BD has approved and we’re good to go. (Well, I DO need to send some stuff to Rooster) Thanks for the offer - I’m really excited about this.

Thanks for letting me onboard guys!

Thanks for taking on this project!

Update… I was at the Jackson Burke this weekend taking measurements on the coach that was transported there for assembly. However while inspecting the underside of the car for plumbing access to the new bar that will be installed I made a gizzly discovery!

It appears that Russel wasn’t “Just found dead dead one morning” contradicting what is stated in the thread below! I believe that Russel was more than likely murdered from the evidence I found! Notice there are “NO NAMES” or “Nicknames” in the story below only a “Prospector” is listed.

http://www.largescalecentral.com/forums/topic/17426/dead-rooster-gulch

This head mount was stuffed behind a floor gusset under the car body! DNA was taken from the mount to determine if it is Russel!

In the mean time an update on the bar build

Should ‘t The bar be… bar height, as in a little below Friar Ferds hand??? Or is the Friar and the skinny chicken man really Lurch sized people? Just my thoughts.

Pete,

First off the only scale figure there is (Boomers figure) “Rooster”. Secondly I was given certain parameters to work within so it fits inside the car. The bar height is actually 36" in 1:20th scale. A standard 1:1 bar height is 42" so technically it’s about 6" short. HOWEVER this is a turn of the century custom built RR car bar so the standards are up to the car owner. Besides 36" is a 1:1 kitchen counter height and proven to be a good standard working height.

The bar is finished. Materials are old growth black walnut, faux maple(basswood for stability) with brass accents. The sink is 1/2" copper pipe and the working faucet and drain are 1/16" copper tubing. The figure (for Pete) is off a bachmann gandy dancer so it should be around 1:20th. The accessories are from Michael’s now all it needs is a shotgun on the shelf under the bar!

Not pictured are another refill of “BD’s Special Mix”, 4 more wine glasses and a small walnut coffee table that could be used in the parlor seating area.

Wow! Nicely done! I’m impressed.

Holy WOW Rooster!!! That is just awesome!!! That walnut just really fit with a parlor cat type of deal

I forgot to show the “Riff Raff” side of the bar or the coach side. They were fortunate enough to get some of the off cut black walnut trim and mirror that was ordered but not ornate enough for the bar. Russel will reside there as well because the Pony Express returned the scrapings taken from him as DNA hasn’t been discovered yet so the company doesn’t exist!

Now to figure out how to crate it up and ship it out carefully!!

Thanks again guys for letting me do this as it was really fun!!

I just hope it’s what BD was envisioning and more so “I HOPE IT FITS” ! I have never built anything like that without the car in front of me. Quite a challenge!

impressive work on the car, and a great job on the bar rooster!

You missed your calling, David, you should have been a cabinet maker. Well done, my man!..(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

The rooster head kills me. Its 12 kinds of funny.

George: Oh, hello, Nick. Hey, where’s Martini?
Nick: You want a martini?
George: No, no, Martini. Your boss. Where is he?
Nick: Look, I’m the boss. You want a drink or don’t you?
George: Okay…all right. Double bourbon, quick, huh?
Nick: Okay. [to Clarence] What’s yours?
Clarence: I was just thinking…It’s been so long since I…
Nick: Look, mister, I’m standing here waiting for you to make up your mind.
Clarence: That’s a good man. I was just thinking of a flaming rum punch. No, it’s not cold enough for that. Not nearly cold enough…Wait a minute…wait a minute…Mulled wine, heavy on the cinnamon and light on the cloves. Off with you, me lad, and be lively!
Nick: Hey, look mister, we serve hard drinks in here for men who want to get drunk fast. And we don’t need any characters around to give the joint atmosphere. Is that clear? Or do I have to slip you my left for a convincer?
Clarence: [to George] What’s he talking about?
George: Nick –– Nick, just give him the same as mine. He’s okay.

your “selfie”…

did you decapitate an innocent, unsuspecting plastic animal, or did you form the head out of some putty?

if the latter, what did you use?

Son, that’s a mighty nice looking bar area… Great work… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

PS: and NO, I’m not sending you 20 bucks…
