A boxcar and covered hopper build

I didn’t like the way the ladders mounted so I’m making a new standoff for them.

Oh good Lord…1/2 of us will be deceased by the time this build is over ?

LOL!!!

Keep 'em coming Dave!

Nice work,

And the improved standoffs have been installed. Now I need to do a bit of touch up paint and install the roof walks

Looking good Hollywood.

Thanks for the patience you all have shown. Fresh out of the shops we have the finished Wagon Top Hoppers.

Roof walks are a bit lighter in real life. Thanks again for the comments and support. The Box cars will get a final touch up coat and roof walks this weekend and maybe I’ll be able to start applying these.

Hollywood. They’re Mahvelous ! Now, Have you repaired the station roof yet  Ralph

Dave, I like the paint job on the covered hopper. I received the 4 AML ICGRR covered hoppers I preordered last year. The only problem is that the under side of the hoppers are the wrong color. The color should be black. I am looking at doing the same thing you are doing by painting the hoppers. I am glad to see what the finished look will be.

I'm not patient. I'm waiting to see all these cars out on the tracks behind an engine.........;)

We haven't seen any pictures of his track all season. I think he's been hiding in the shop building these great looking cars and neglecting the RR.

And the boxcars are now finished.

A group shot of most of the hoppers

And some of the decals for the boxcars

Don’t mention the station roof in the back ground or Ralph will want to know if it’s done yet

real nice. looks like a good fleet addition

Nice job Dave, Those cars are coming out great.

Nick

Looking good. When your done come spend a couple of weeks here and build some of my boxcar kits. Bob says I need more cars

Good job Dave! I’m just bumping the worlds longest thread back to the top.

John - I think Bruce and Rooster are competing for the world’s longest thread. This one might come in third  I think these long term build threads serve a purpose. They show that nice stuff can be built even if you are not retired and able to dedicate many hours a day to modeling. You just need to keep plugging away and not get discouraged. If Dave didn’t already have a nickname, we could come up with some good ones based on this build !

Hollywood isn’t even close
I think Bruce’s thread was 29 pages. I have one that is 23 pages. Rooster’s was in the 20’s somewhere

Nope.....I think we just try and give as much detail as we can. We could show you a pile of material and pieces then show you the finished product back to back in one post however there would probably be so many questions on how ya' did this or how ya' did that it would turn into a 20 page thread. ;)

I love them Hoppers Hollywood(they are my favorite next to the mail car) and the guys want to see the other batch as well!
