Besides, remember that Clown last year? Had one hell of a problem getting the hang of things. Actually he never did, he just got very frustrated.
Sounds a bit like someone else we all know!
Tony,

Yeah, isn’t it funny, they come in all sizes and all guises.  But does a leopard change its spots??

No, not even even when a Pommy moves to OZ.

Well, another bit of "rubbish" are the 120 new 2007 LGB items that someone here quoted. I wonder where that came from...is someones imagination working overtime???

Just a couple of days ago the Nürnberger Nachrichten had an article about Lehmann with an interview with Mr. Schöntag … he mentioned 60 new LGB articles for 2007 and he should know (at least I hope so), not 120.

Actually, that was based on very good information. It’s just that the
American prototype items are missing from the list now.

I would encourage caution and patience at this time. The situation at
EPL is at a very critical – and highly variable – point.

Marvin,

That would explain it!

You need to take into consideration that some Germans are more teutonically inclined - and really focused on just one aspect, which doesn’t prevent them from shouting “incorrect, incorrect” even if they miss the point. It’s as if they’re still on the Crusade in the Holy Land, in some cases you’d think LGB is the New Jerusalem.

OTOH it can’t hurt to read on LSC, this is a good place to learn a few things about NA railroads and railways. My experience has been that the German speakers run into problems when they don’t know the English terms to use in “Google” and the other search engines. Even the Urban Dictionary doesn’t help in those cases. Picking up one or two of the finer points, along with the fact that LS railroading doesn’t preclude humour, can’t hurt. Can’t hurt at all! Even if one believes to know just about everything.

Caution and patience is what applies to the bits and pieces for my projects. Even if that’s one level too high for some people.

The link shows a 404 error.

Timmy,

That was noted earlier in the thread, the editors of that online source were a bit too hasty and the ref blew the whistle (offside pass   )

The News embargo runs 'til the end of the month, if you can’t wait send me an email, I stored it as a “HTML with pictures”.

I do understand once a German plan is set…there is NO changing it…even when disaster is close.

The English speaking countries (England, OZ, Canada & US) each have slang terms that will not be understood by those that only studied basic English.

I just don’t have the patience for the detail that you are trying to achieve in your models…but you seem to enjoy the effort in trying…so be it.

Yes, but that Link doesn’t show the LGB items.

Since the title of this thread is “a preview of what’s coming”…
and you guys love rumours.

I just heard that Märklin (I assume people here have heard of Märklin) was bought by the previous owner of Müller-Milch…a German dairy operation. I assume he is not related to Hans-Joerg.
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Müllermilch

Amazing how much money one can make selling milk!

I had noticed that in something I was looking at…I think it was the link that Lone posted that lead me there. I just couldn’t figure out who made the purchase or when since it was in German.

Andreas (one of many of your “names”, isn’t it)

Rather than acquiring Märklin, he probably assumes the post vacatated by the interim CEO Dr. Wlecke. As they say in German, if one can read, one has a clear advantage.

Found what I was looking at. HJ, what I saw was in Gartenbahn Profi, the one with your Bumerang article. See page 76 where it says “Marklin ist in neur hand”. Maybe you could enlighten us on the content of this article…or is this old news that just went over my head??

Don’t know which issue of ‘profi’ you mean, but the “Müller-Milk” change just happened today. Turns out that he didn’t become the new owner, only the new top boss at Märklin. The caption below reads - “Correction, the exit is on the right”

Hi Warren,

“Andreas” should check his facts.

No change in ownership at Märklin since Kingsbridge Capital took over. What will change is the CEO, the interim CEO Dr. Ulrich Wlecke will hand over to new CEO Axel Dietz on Feb 1st 2007.

Kingsbridge Capital acquired Märklin in Spring 2006.

Ok, I was aware of the Kingbridge purchase, but just didn’t know when it took over. With lag times on magazines, that would be about right for the article in Gartenbahn Profi’s issue 4 of '06.

When it comes to business news outside of the US, Americans are treated like mushrooms…kept in the dark and fed bulls**t…! And it doesn’t help when you can’t read other languages…:frowning:

Oh, just for clarification for those who didn’t get it.

Dave,

The one who should get it, Little German Ba… (LGB), most likely didn’t get it.
