A bit of a preview of what's coming

Why don’t you little people make up your minds ?
First off you want people in the hobby , so tell us don’t discourage anyone , next breath it’s “don’t touch LGB” who are the ones who really got things going in the first place .
We know that frantic hans has a panic attack every time LGB is mentioned , and then the knee jerk follows . That I can understand .
The other detractors use a broad brush to swipe LGB who make some very presentable European outline . But as it ain’t American , it’s ignored .
Except that it’s LGB , thus crap .
What is it you want ?
If everyone listens to you , another company is gone to the wall .
Very good for the hobby , right ?
And , given the marketing tactics you all know that would follow if there were just a couple of manufacturers , you really don’t think that the price would not rocket at the same rate as the quality would decline because of no competition . Do you ?
As I have said before , it is a good idea to keep shtum if you don’t like something .
Best praise what you like , give positive feelings , you may actually get listened to .
Ignore the stuff you don’t like . Don’t buy it . Don’t sell it .
Above all , don’t try to spoil it for those who do like it .

AND please , refer to LGBoA . We Europeans like our LGB . And of course , the Euro marketing means we can get American outline black , black with cream , and black with cream and sugar , we who make up 20% of American outline sold by LGB .

Mike, Why should I have a panic attack when LGB gets mentioned??  I don’t do panic attacks!  I do chuckle, chuckle whenever one of the RBB and its off-shoots pops up and starts another “poor LGB, poor Wolfgang, poor this or poor that” routine. And then tries to dress it up as “positive promotion of the hobby”. Get a grip! BTW I’m just waiting for one more LGB RhB item to arrive and then I can do another “little review” of how things look. As a sampler… comment from my wife when she saw the first sample on the workbench: “Isn’t it kind of short?” Certainly is! Approx. 1:24.7, but it goes well with some of the other stuff.  Funny that my wife should notice that instead of the shiny finish and the “superb” this that and the next thing.

OOOOOPS the Link to Rhein-Sieg doesn’t work anymore, must have been some fla©k from some direction.

Those who just can’t wait 'til Feb 1st can send me an email and I’ll forward the stored “HTML with pictures” page (at my discretion!).

Where did you get that idea?

I was just there a few days ago dropping off an item for repair and what you could see of the production line was humming.

I guess you must have dropped by on Sunday.

Hmmm…joined today…from Germany…to answer this specific post…does the term “ringer” apply here?

Can't argue with that!!

Never mind , Tony , you'll be a big boy one day , then you will be able to argue . Mike --with a sweet smile on his face .

Hans asks “Why should he have a panic attack at the mention of LGB ?”

That’s for you to explain to us , mate , if you wish to retain any credulity on this forum .

Mike ----- smiling broadly . OOOPs , too broad , me teef jus’ fell out .

Marvin, We don’t do “Lederhosen” in Switzerland   :D.

Dave , you mean the Kr… sorry , Europeans .

Mike , winking —winking , I said .

Oh, so it wasn't about the car then!

Hans-

I love it.
Avacado Gold and Harvest Green
Yes, several posts back.
No matter, your pithy analysis and imagery means a great read.

Thanks,
Wendell

Hey Wendell,

Hmmmmmmmm … give me a chance, eh!
I’ll do the “Avocado Gold” and “Harvest Green” soon enough, but haven’t done it, yet.

Wait 'til Marvin gets me all straightend out if I’m talking about a LGB RhB car - hard to decipher unless you wear glasses and/or are fully awake - or “whatever” is on his mind (Lederhosen??).

And Mike M has me acquire/learn his very special sense of humour, a special appreciation for the MRR hobby and how to eat English Bangers without copious amounts of liquid to counter that dreaded dusty feeling in one’s throat.

Combine the two and things will be … looking up in a major way.

You think the colors are neato?
Wait until you see the shag carpet in the passenger cars…

Or wait until you see the passengers shag on the carpet in the cars .......... Crimson Red carpet, Crimson Red faces, Midnight Blue music off the sound decoder that's dressed up as Wurlitzer playing the "best yet" payola.

Gotta have tubas.

That’s right!

I have been reading here on and off a bit, but after I saw so much rubbish posted, I decided to join so I could comment.

And what is a “ringer” in this context?

I thought my English is pretty good, but a “ringer” to me means a bell - I assume this is something negative???

He most likely meant that he thought you were someone else trying to disguise your identity and registered using a false name. Actually I had that same feeling. I had thought you might be another German that sometimes shows his face here just to stir the pot. Welcome to the discussion. One simple warning, asbestos underwear and chain mail is required clothing in this forum and the off topic one. Fur tends to fly in these two groups…then we go play trains

Fur? I thought we were talking about shag ... snicker snicker ... rugs. Play trains? I wish. 20C below, ice and snow, may make a happy Eskimo, but it does nothing for me. Other than freeze my -ss. Oh, well. Almost February; spring's only six months away. Can fall (autumn/automne/Herbst) be far behind?
