Is it done yet?
Yes. It was done months ago.

I KNEW IT!

Got one of the side walls cut out, including window and door openings. The opposite wall will be solid, as I’ll end up putting a building against it. I think I’ll put 3 or 4 windows in the back wall.

I got started on the windows. Two sizes: the two on the front wall are a bit larger. I’ve decided to make all the other windows the same size - this includes the turret windows.

They ARE easier to make than my previous ones with the muntins!

So, you took those pictures a few months ago and your sharing with us a little at a time like a TV series. Where is the commercial ?

Nice!

I knew he was up to something, he was quiet for too long !

No, just responding to a stupid question with a a stupid answer.

Got the back wall cut out. I’ll be using the same size window as the sides and turret - got to build six more…

Gluing the side pieces to the turret in place. I decided to add some reinforcements to the vertical pieces. I could have made these solid pieces, but I really didn’t want to cut those window openings.

Next up is the turret roof. I enlarged the plans to get some basic dimensions. Of course cardstock does not have much thickness so I have to change things a bit to accommodate my 1/8" PVC board. First up is to make them a bit shorter, as I don’t want the roof to come to a point like the cardboard model does.

I put an angle on each gluing edge to allow these to fit together. The Weld-On 16 works great for these as it sets up very quickly.

Not perfect, but coming along very nicely.

Finally complete.

Glued the walls together and had to set this in place to see how it looks.

The basic building is complete, but now I’ve got to start working on all the detail. I’m currently waiting on an order of styrene to arrive and I probably need to visit Michael’s to look at some other detail parts.

That turret did look like it would be a PITA to figure out, but it sure does add to the over look of the building.

Nice work!

Looking good. And you know I was just joking about this already being finished, right?

coming along nicely Bruce.

We'll see! ;)

You sure you’re not just nickle and dimeing us on this ?

What kind of glue do you use to attach the styrene bits to the pvc?

Yes, I’m a big fan of the Weld-On 16 for this project. I also use some of the liquid acrylic cement for putting some of the styrene in place.

I’ll have to try the “Weld On 16”.
I have had bad results with nearly every glue I’ve tried.
I’m thinking that because of the “glue sniffers”, the effective ingredients have been removed(reduced) from most glues.
I think the same thing has been happening to paint. I have far more problems with spray paint then I had years ago.
On the positive side, I guess I have a few more brain cells remaining
Ralph

VERY pleased with the Weld-On 16. It’s like syrup, so comes out of the tube rather quickly. I am also pleased with the liquid to adhere some of that styrene to the foamed PVC. Worked on the front windows today, just adding some trim work. I’m not sure if I’m going to add any more detail to these. There’s certainly some on the prototype, but I’m not sure it’s worth adding it.

I completed the bottom section. I’m building it away from the building as I plan to put some sort of detail in the windows. I’m just not sure what that should be.

Nice…

I haven’t glued in the front yet, but did start trimming out the second story and turret. Still a lot more to do.
