Large Scale Central

28th Street / Franklin Falls

Needed to start another thread for this part of the RR. Last fall I built the benchwork, and this spring/summer, in addition to the loop rebuilding, I’ve been working on the approach. I finally finished it today, except landscaping. I’ve built a planter on the end of the bench work, and used some of the trestle bents Ive had for several years to span the distance between the steel bridge and the planter. Cinder block core, and used bricks finish off the planter. It will get filled with dirt and plantings added.

Coming along nicely Bob. Is that a stepover between the bridge and the watertank area ?

Looks nice Bob. It’s taking shape with good use of materials on hand. I like that. Looking forward to seeing more on the bench work as you progress.

nice work…

Look good. Like the planter box idea.

Your railroad looks like an operator’s delight Bob. Really good looking and lots of RR tasks to keep everyone busy. You sure get things done faster than I do! hehe!

How many operators will the RR be able to accommodate at once? From what I’ve seen so far I’d guesstimate at least six to eight.

So how does the title reference to the pictures?

28th Street in Franklin Falls?

28th st is the name of the yard…Franklin Falls is the station…

Hopefully it won’t tax the TrainOps program, though it hasn’t yet. We had about 4 operators on the line last year.
nt yet.

Whos Franklin and when did he fall? Or perhaps Ric pushed him too!

I like your end of track devices. Looks good Bob.

Those end of track devices are probally holding the track in position?

Al,

No, temporary until I cut some real ones…
