Happy 25th!!!

003

Eagerly awaiting the news of celebrations around the world on this auspicious occasion.

LSC’s 25th anniversary is right around today (last night at some point, actually, the details are somewhat fuzzy) but we’ve been around for every one of 25 years. We have a handful of members that have been around since the beginning. I believe we’re the longest running privately owned website dedicated to our unique hobby.

It’s been a great ride, I’ve learned a ton from all of you, and despite some frustrations and growing pains, I’ve enjoyed it all. I’ve made some great friends, and a small number of enemies.

Thanks to everyone for their support over the years, both financially and content wise. This site is your site, I just try to keep the lights on.

Congrats, on the success over the years Bob. THANK YOU.
The OVGRS website, devoted to our LS part of the model railroad hobby which is also privately owned, has been around just as long…the OVGRS does not charge any membership fees either, and never will.

Congrats to all. Hard to think it’s been so long since I bought my first G train in 2000. I came later to LSC, I was active on MLS, GR, and LSmad, the only one I wasn’t active on was LSOL (I wasn’t worthy) and the Aristo forum. Today GSmad, Aristo are gone, GR is virtually dead, and MLS is now pretty much a live steam forum. Through it all LSC has been there chugging along. I have learned so much over the years. The Mik Challenges always pushing us to try new things an we have all learned from each other. So congrats to all of us. Thank you Bob for providing the opportunity to engage with everyone else.

Last bunch of users that have visited, and on the right is their Created date on the site.

Congrats to everyone. If I was more computer savvy, I would pull up the Pixley Fire Department Band. Perhaps someone else would be so kind.

Congrats! Here’s to another 25+.

Couldn’t find any trace of their band online, sorry! Will this do?

And I am down for 25yrs - I couldn’t remember when I joined.

that sounds a little bit lame for a celebration.

let’s try this:

Sorry, two strikes.
I was thinking of Petticoat Junction with Uncle Joe leading the Pixley Fire Department Band trying to play ā€œHot Time In The Old Town Tonightā€.
Where’s Rooster when you need him? He usually finds this hard to find stuff.

How about a little of the late Leon Redbone

I found it in Season 2 Episode 13 ā€œSmoke-Eatersā€. Guess I will go and watch it on TV, can’t figure out how to get to it here.

Bob,

My sincere congratulation!

And echoing others, thank you so much for this forum. It’s my primary ā€œsocial mediaā€ outlet, because of all the friends I’ve made here and fellowshipped with both virtually and face-to-face in related events.

Cheers and Salute!
Another 25!
Next year in Chama!

Happy anniversary, LSC . Bob, thanks for allowing us in your living room each day. I hope we all have another 25 years here.
