2024 Fall Running - Post your pictures here

Hi all,
Had a friend over on Sunday afternoon to run some trains. While putting away motive power I took this shot. The mountain to the right is Mount Princeton at 14,197’:

Cheers,
Matt

Dan’s steam up, dodging huge walnuts and clucking chickens.

Consider this the end of the Long-Aristo-Coaches thread!

Jerry loaned me his Aristo gondolas with scrap loads, so the Dockside got a run:

If I can find my RR under the leaves, the weather will be perfect for the next few days to run some trains.

This morning I was motivated to get the leaf blower out and find the railroad. Once the track was clear, numerous trains were run. First out was a diesel inspection train featuring the newly acquired (via the Kaskaska Valley in Carlyle, IL) Nashoba Valley Transportation Co. box car #3630

Next up was a mixed freight powered by Jackson & Burke #4

@Bruce_Chandler Does the engineer have a name?

Following J&B #4’s train was Rio Grand #345 with a passenger consist…

Finally a double headed freight train lead by C.V.S.Ry. #8 and #4

Once everything was out on the line and turned, they began the trip home…

Looks great Jon , i wish I had time to run trains I did take my horse for a ride but even he was reluctant

You said it Sean…

He does look long in the face. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m here all week folks!

Dang…I never named him…so I guess it is up to you? :innocent:

Ah yes, that is one of the “Budget Boxcar” kits that were produced around 1998? I bought a ton of them when they came out, and Ric bought a bunch of them from me a few years ago.

Thanks Bob. It’s fun to have a few 'foreign road" cars running around the railroad. So far I have cars from the Rockwall Canyon RR, Jackson & Burke and now Nashoba Valley Transportation Company. Our J&B inventory is by far the largest with a locomotive, three coaches and caboose.

Considering the flat car load I think you should name the engineer Adolph. Now if you really want to complicate things you could name him Bob but spell it backwards just to be different.
Or if that doesn’t pan out you could just name him Bill.

Rooster;

My cousin, Gregg Larish, would always accuse me of saying “Bob” backwards.

It can’t be spelled backwards but it can easily be spelled upside down with emphasis.

I just spent 30+ minutes blowing the leaves off my layout, now I can see the 400 hundred acorns that I have to hand pick out of the tracks :grimacing:

Sean;

I had an “acorn management system” when I had the outdoor layout, aka squirrels. Unfortunately, at least one of them liked chewing on the nearby lead pack donkey. That squirrel probably never got to dig up the hidden acorns.

Had a simulated mine entrance against the trunk of a white pine. One day I notice the mine entrance was clogged with something. A squirrel had stuffed it full of acorns!
