And that shows how much we miss you. And want you back to 100% health.

I can believe that.
I need clarification. Does the winner get a mug with a photo on it made by Dave Taylor or do we get a photo of Dave Taylor’s mug. I mean it makes a difference. I don’t need a coffee cup but everyone needs a photo of Dave’s mug.

Hey, I represent resent that. It’s your fault for becoming my friend on FB…

Gee I was hoping for; a Dave Taylor mug on a Dave Taylor mug!
Well I have been scratching my head for a coupla days trying to think of a project that I might be able to put together “on time and under budget”
Then I got an idea and started digging through junk boxes and supplies, I have most everything I need, I hope, so count me in this year for the first time
Rick
Well Geeeze I just saw where Devon beat me to my unique idea, heck with it I’ll go ahead anyway.
Timing and subject once again works in to my winter plans. I will be needing a front and some interior for the industry that will reside under my basement stairs. My aspirations are no where near as lofty as Devon or Rick’s steam crane, but I hope to bring some different materials into the mix. I happen to have the “drop” from a 1.5" thick HDU Foam sign I made a few months back and after the luck I had with similar foam carving large concrete blocks I’m thinking Old Brick and stone sills, etc. could be carved in this here foam and then with the proper use of bashing implements that carved brick could be made to look pretty old. Sean M. had suggested a business name he found as a real local business here: Candlewood Valley Building. - I don’t like the word Building as it makes me think that is the name of the building, not the business, but add the word Supply on the end and you now have a reason for box cars to come.
So, hopefully I have not committed to more than I can deliver. You can count me in. As soon as I have some rough napkin drawings I’ll post a build thread.
AH, well, my mind boggles. I could build so many different things. But right now I am working on an HO module. Gee, could I build buildings for that module under this contest?

C’mon, Maynard—do they even make eyeglasses strong enough for you to build in HO ?
Well, since I am drawing blanks as far as ideas of what to build, and work looks like I will be out of town several weekends in January alone, count me in, hope to at least get an idea of What I can make in time to get half way done.
OK Pete, As simple as an out house… One or two or three holer, worked, or go all the way and do a two story condo type.
The wife said “Chicken Coop” but Mr. Rooster might be offended.
Well if the Good Lord is willing and the creeks don’t rise and Nurse Crachit gives me an oakie dokie, then I’ll bash my second Canteen and section gang supply car. Actually a battery car to facilitate changing batteries.
An Aristo Classic flat w/ spools. Remove spools and their stands, take the spools apart. My natives use the ends to make wheels for their carts and I’ll use a pair for the water tank ends on a length of 3"plastic pipe.
Years ago I thought the 20’ shorty cars would do… I put a 20’ tank on a tender frame for the trucks … this tank will be long enough for batteries. Another 20’ gondola will sacrifice 3/4 of it side walls for bulk foodstuffs; barrels of beans and flour, drums of vegetable oil, a pile of charcoal and a small closet of hardwares… if you keep the section gang’s cook happy … then maybe 2 will be.
Keyword; rustic.
I gathered these parts for last years contest. So close.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Um, HO taint too bad. My club had me scratch-build a N scale trestle/bridge for them a few years back. That was difficult. My eyes were crossed for a week.

Call it a ‘Hen House’ and he’ll be all in…
I’ll play. Another first timer.
My club layout has been developing a 1950’s city for the last couple years, and we could really use a diner. Nothing says 1950s kitsch quite like a diner with a giant coffee pot on the roof, and luckily a city near me had one of those. The building still stands (although the coffee pot is long gone) so I have a prototype to work from. Most needed materials are in my shop.

Now we’re talkin’ oh yeah. This should be interesting!
Hey Neal, glad to see you jumping in,
Well I’m in, going to build a roadside diner out of a badly mutilated Bachmann combine and some on had styrene sheet, should be fun
The crew has voted…we’re in! The debate is raging between converting foam and popsicle sticks into a coaling station (my vote) or Iolani Palace (CINCHOUSE’s 27 votes…) or a combining broomstick, dowel, coconut fiber, and actual large scale train bits to make the “Ka’a wa’a” (double hulled sailing locomotive canoe) (Kids’ votes). Should have the sketch up by the end of the weekend.
