Large Scale Central

2017 ECLSTS

We are headed down tomorrow for the show, we will be there most of the day on Friday.
Not sure if we will be attending the D&B as our hotel is over by the Pennsylvania Railroad museum this year (we wanted to try something a little different).
So we will try to say hello to as many people as we can.
Have fun everyone!

Like John hoping to make Kens run in April but looks like I won’t make the show this year myself.

What?! You mean I saved you all this worthless Amtrash stuff for nothing? You better be there, mister! . . . -Kevin. . . . Edited because I can.

At about this time; 15:45 or so on Thursday March 23rd, the “Elves of the Alcove”, are just about finishing up their set-up. Throats are dry, and hunger pangs are developing. The thoughts of “The Diner” are growing in everyone’s minds…then the ideas of friends heading for the "Early Arrivers’ Party at the Wyndham start to appear…ah to be there…the friends to meet, and new friendships to kindle.

Have fun, everyone…and please, please, keep us poor souls who can’t be there, in touch with telephone, photo shots…they will very much be appreciated. Thank you, everyone, in advance…

Ah yes, Fred… 'Tis just about that time… Now an hour later and the anxiety heightens… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Just sitting here at the Wyndham waiting for the action to start.

Doc

I am settling into my hotel room and I am starting to contemplate acquiring some sustenance. I mean, getting something to eat. Then I plan on putting on my Penn Central tee shirt and going over the Wyndham, so Larry can razz me about my twisted choice in railroads.

Stan…off subject…but…Did you ever get that decal made for Doug Matheson…the one for “The Ironwood Road”…

Fred

Then NHGRS Set up BIG GREEN in record time. They let us in at 7:30 (1/2 hour early) I was the first car in. We had the modules all connected by 10:30 and set to putting up the scenes. Here is a Flickr album of the set-up ECLST 2017 I’ll be adding photos each night.

Side note - As a group 13 of us went to Logan’s Road House for dinner. On the way out of the restaurant there was a cute baby in a high chair waving at everyone as they went by. When I went to pass I got no wave just a funny stare. I looked at the Mom and she said it must be the hat. We teach them young down here. I forgot I was wearing my Patriots Super Bowl Champions hat in Eagles Country. What a dig - This Mom would fit right in with our club members…

Thanks for the photos, Scott. I hope to see more.

Just for depth perception the light shining in though the glass is the LSC Alcove. Bottom RH corner is where dad stores all his loot from the show.

I actually saw Andy smile, twice. He denied that it ever happened, but I saw it. So Andy can smile. Who would have thought…

Had a great time at the “Early Bird Social,” which is basically a gob of large scale train buffs descending on a bar, no one knowing everybody, some not knowing anybody, but all finding common ground in the hobby and enjoying the interaction.

I missed meeting Rooster, but I understand that his situation didn’t permit his attendance. I enjoyed talks with Gary B., Bob M., Hollywood, David M., and many others. What a blast!

Pics, or it didn’t happen.

Steve it happened so quickly that I didn’t even have time to take my cell phone out of my pocket.
