Looking very Bart-esque. I just hope you donāt keep changing designs/scales/etc. like Bart!
No chance of that happening. The only changes I can see is maybe how the track is routed. What looks OK on paper doesnāt necessarily translate well in reality.
You guys are pure motivation!
Tom - Love that āgooseā
David - Nice Layout and bridges too! Donāt think Iāve seen any pics like that of your setup.
John - Good to see your son in to it. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Eric - Glad to see youāve caught up to the lower 47.
Shawn & Ken - You know Iām jealous of how fast you guys are building.
Again, all I have to say is , Pure Motivation, Iām going to get to work nowā¦

Got some running in today after finishing roadbed workā¦
Very nice pictures Jon. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Thanks Joe. I think I post too many of this spot on the RR. I like to take pictures here because I can hide reality behind greenery and I can get low angles without getting down on the ground.
If you look close you can tell this area is in serious need of attention. Some of it (trimming the volunteer hemlock) got done yesterday.
The C.V.S.Ry. finally has some standard passenger equipment in service. Previously all passenger runs were served by all caboose trains. During the off season the C.V.S.Ry. Shops installed draft gear and couplers on a wooden coach and combine that have been in storage for many years. Today I managed to get a few pictures of one of the first revenue runs. These pictures were taken with a newly acquired point and shoot. I set the picture size to HD TV size (1920x1080) so I wouldnāt have to resize them, but Iām not too happy with the quality. Itās a 16MP camera, so I guess Iāll go back to shooting in high resolution, then resizing. I havenāt given up on my DSLR, but sometimes a pocket camera is a nice change.
Here the outbound train approaches itās first stop at Wall Stationā¦

If the higher resolution setting doesnāt yield better pictures Iāll probably go back to shooting the RR exclusively with the Cannon DSLR.
I realize this is the official āRunā thread for spring 2015 however I cannot run anything right now because Iām rebuilding, repairing, realigning and restructuring so this is all I have to share at this point. The RR is slowly changing, evolving, progressing while learning trials, errors and NEW techniques Iām a busy man these days but really enjoying the outdoor, gardening aspect of the hobby right now. I also need to take a break from model building as well. I really liked Andy Clarkeās (my dad) overall RR shots of his Girlscout Southern ops session recently posted. Instead of close ups or as I call them outside vignetteās, Iām gonna show you some of my overall shots currently which are nothing like his because he spent my college fund on his RR.
I want to come back home dad!
Single to double track truss
Working on the small loop that faces the main street on the southside with direct sun lost a quite a few perennials these past two PA winters . Havenāt touched this section in 4/5 yrs cause I donāt really see it while sitting outback.
Edit: because Iām in an editing mood tonight
Is it done yet? (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
Looking good Rooster. If you want thepink hat to help you get motivated ill send it asap.

Woah John, Didnāt realize there was such a grade in front of Wall.
Nice work Roster! That side section looks much nicer. Whats on the placard facing the side walk? What construction type is the 6 arch bridge? I donāt think you need the hat back.
Great job Rooz, Like what you did to the walkway.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Thanks guys
Randyā¦the sign just basically says please respect our privacy the trains run when they run. The viaduct is pvc with some composite and wood for structural inners.
Impressive! Looks good cuz!
What brand are those structures inside the loop towards the front of you house?

Well, assuming the station is level (which Iām not sure it is) the straight lines do make the grade quite noticeable. Originally it was well over 5%. I eased it a few years ago when rebuilding this area to about 3.5%, but it may have changed a bit since then. When I get some ballast level up this area Iāll measure it. Still waiting on BIL to register his trailer. Mine is still full of leaves from Fall of 2012. I guess itās probably compost now.
EDIT to addā¦
You see where the āwallā changes from mortar filled to dry stack in this picture? That line is level. Also, The green table leg just above the T on the combine is pretty true. Me thinks the station might be on a bit of a tilt (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)
