VERY NICE!
AHhhhhh Boss. Where’s the (Amtrak) station? We’re going to need a station!!!
This pretty much sums up my spring run experience this year…
The only thing missing from the picture is the wheelbarrow that I run with.

Spring comes later here in the far north but it does come!
JUST BEAUTIFUL Shawn!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif) Great background.
Spring pictures of the Bluestone Southern are located in the ““Operations”” section…
Don’t want to double post pictures… http://www.largescalecentral.com/forums/topic/23694/bluestone-southern-2-3-may-operations
Maybe not the most interesting photos, but here are a couple of shots from the Somerville & St. Francis River Railway, taken about a week ago:
These are a pair of LGB GSC 53’ flatcars that I just finished up detailing and lowering with new trucks, grabs, and side steps, as well as the usual addition of brake hoses, lift bars and Kadees. I also snipped the tabs that clip the decks in place, meaning now that are easily removable, allowing us to swap a loaded deck for an empty deck as we need for our ops sessions.
Best wishes,
G
My railroad is still heavily under construction, but this weekend I hit a big milestone and finished the rock and gravel on one end of the rail line. I had to do a victory lap, or at least half of one.
Looks good Mike, Is that real coal around the mountain?
Thanks. It’s black rundle, but coal would have been a neat idea.
Hey Mike it’s nice to see you over on this site. I watched your progress on the Aristo site up until a short time ago. The layout is looking good. My handle over there was cncrailroad.
Chuck
Thanks Chuck. I plan to be more active over here than I’ve been.
Tonight I got the “I don’t know why local” running.
The reason I call it the “I don’t know why local” is because;
When St Aubins was having their going out of business sale at the ECLSTS I bought the 3 long Heartland coaches. How long ago was that? I bought them, but I don’t know why.
I bid on, and won, a collection of Bachmann stuff last year, and in that stuff was 2 Bachamnn tenders, I don’t know why.
I bid on, and won, an old LGB Mogul, that looked to have very little run time on it. I don’t know why.
And its a local, because my railroad doesn’t do anything “express”.
So there it is, an LGB Mogul, with a Bachamann tender, pulling a trio of Heartland coaches. It looks good to me, but I still don’t know why I collected these things, at different times, to end up putting this train together.
I don’t know why, but it looks good (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Why, I don’t know, because. First, second and third base. Now you know.
Thanks John.
Steve, the reason why, or at lest the reason I told myself why when I made the individual purchases, was that the price was right (cheep). But I really can’t call the train “The Price is Right Local”. Something about trademark and copyright infringements. Besides, if I called it that, I would need a conductor that looked like Bob Barker did back when he was doing that show. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Why? Why not.
The yellow train really looks good against the green background. Thanks for posting.
David,
I really like the looks of that train. Well done.
No 20 got the call today.
