2013 Challenge on D&D -- a caboose

I picked up my kit today Dave. You did a beautiful job pitting them together.

My build will be a rustic mine caboose for a mine car string. The D&D crew will appreciate the “luxury” of having a caboose!

This will give you a rough idea of what I’m looking at.

I guess you won’t get to see it! I tried six different ways!

Doug,

I do not see your picture.

I may have to email it!

Let’s try one more time to upload the caboose.

Still no photo.

Doug Are you really trying to up load pics or is this just a ploy to keep your build a secret? Come on coff it up…

I sure can build the suspense!

I am disappointed the picture wouldn’t upload but mine will look quite a bit different anyway.

Dave or the kids at Ozark Miniatures are filling my order today. I haven’t ordered since he redid the website. The redesigned website sure works a lot better!

Doug, The suspense is broken. Here is your caboose…

Thanks a bunch. Mine will look different but it will be along this line.

Doug, Maybe I sent you the wrong flat kit… this would be a better start point.

These I named “Quarry Flats” used to haul large blocks of quarried stone out of the mine. Short, stout…

Look forward to your progress Doug!

Dave, Nice quarry car. I like it!

That is nice but this will go with the other cars I’m going to build. I figure that this is a gondola that the crew took out of service and “altered” for the crew.

I’m looking forward to watching you build this, Doug. I’m making a string of 4-wheel shorties myself right now, and will be glad to see any ideas that you come up with. I’m using castings from Passidump in Sri Lanka that I got off eBay.

I have to check on the crew building the car. I’ve heard from a couple shortlines that they are “missing” a few things!

Now that I’m back home I can go back to building! What’s the deadline again?

Work quick Doug! the deadline is next weekend!

It’s in the 30s and the heater in the shop isn’t keeping up!

Time to move things into the dining room

But my wife would say ******* when I brought the cut-off saw in!
