Large Scale Central

2011 challenge - Loco Barn

Tonight I got the last of the face board painted and up. Cut half the stips for the upper roof and painted them. I have put my Bmann two truck shay in the barn so you can get a ideal of the size. YES it is bigger then the 2 sq foot size rule but I think that got tossed.

sorry the photos are not better but all I have is my cell phone to take pictures with.

Nice, the size comparison with the loco, really shows how big it is.

Ok its done so now its time to answer the questions Mik had for us. “What is your confidence level? 1-10 1 being very low” I would have to say 4 maybe 5 but getting higher all the time "What is your current skill level? Neophyte–Beginner–Apprentice–Intermediate–Journeyman–Expert–Master–Grand Master (Neophyte means you think you might be able to tell which end of the knife to hold - unless it’s a fancy knife, Grand Master means you could build models for the Smithsonian or movies) " Whats a knife?.. No for real Beginner. This is only my second build. The first was last winter MOW build challenge and glueing stuff to a Bmann flat was not much of a build. “Has participating in the challenge improved (or worsened) either of these for you?” improved. I dont think I would have tried a scrach build if not for the challenge. Now here are the last pictures. all four sides

Ok how did I do. Cost in it. about 7 dollars for paint and band aids mostly Time…glade we got more of it. I think I did a good job of photo doc and build log. I will add more stuff little things like extra drive wheels outside and ect once I get back to my house were all that little stuff is. Please keep in mind I’m 1750 miles away from my RR and all my stuff. Mik thanks had a great time doing it and I’m pesonaly suprised at how well it truned out.

That really looks sharp Geoff. I like the colors , and the roof looks great. Fine job

…grinning…

That turned out great Geoff, and I too like the colors as well as that roof.
