Thats looking real nice Geoff. I like the color.
thanks Shawn
the color is turning out better then I thought it would at first. The trim realy helps.
Now I just have to get the roof to work out right.
I have cut some wood lamanet? (spelling) that I got from the maintains guy here at the apt. complex. He was realy nice in letting me dig thought all the junk they have in a garage. found all kinds of stuff.
started to glue the roof parts on last night and when I got up this morning a number of them have warped out of shape. I was hoping that the primer (three coats) would have sealed up the wood and kept this from happending. Will have to work on it later.
Geoff George said:That's how Shawn spells it..... but don't put that laminate outside as it won't last.

Andy, he probably is thinking about it.
Geoff as Rooster said the laminate flooring won’t last outside as just as little hint when you want to seal something from warping don’t forget to do both sides.
Randy I did do both sides and three or four coats of primer. I like the flat grey color.
Got it working now and its not a laminate flooring its just thin sheets of wood that you glue to cheep stuff to make it look like you have a wood table or what ever.
The Maintance guy used it on a doll house he made his kid for Christmas. he used it to cover the dry wall he used to build the doll house.
I’ll try and get some close up pictures so you can see how I’m doing the roof. Not sure how the old Phone cam will work at this.
Vener that is the word I could not think of. Its wood vener.
OK I understand now. Veneer will work but you might need to glue it to something thicker for stiffness. Not sure what thickness of veneer you are using.
Geoff,
Just a thought…you could use the same material for the roof as you did the walls and brace everything internally with that veneer?
David Russell said:The roof is foam board with the veneer glued on it. I wonted the wood look to the roof and the foam board was just to smooth looking for me. I will post a picture here later.

Still have to get the upper roof section painted then glued on and to the trim work on it. Then I have to do a fasha board for it all. I’m very glade Mik is giving us till satureday now. ITs a case of the more I do on it the more I find I need to do on it.
Nice job, Geoff.
That’s a pretty good size coffee table build

Ok got most of the roof done on the upper part. cut the facesha board and painted it. Once I get the roof wood glued on I can cut the strips for the joints and the barn will be done. Will post more pictures later.
here are the pictures of the facing board on the back side of the Barn. First two are with out the last one is with.

Now all you need is Barry’s Bargain Boiler Barn.
Geoff, Next time you use plastic cardboard you might find what I use helpful.

Lawrence
I will have to try some of that on my next build.
This was part of the challenge and I am doing it on the cheep.
Were do you get yours from? what size, ect. I looked at your website but it did not really give a lot about were size brand ect.
Thanks
Geoff
Geoff…any building supply store should have it. It’s used for trimming out either plastic laminate 1/16" (Arborite) or wall panelling 1/8". Comes in a variety of shapes…inside and outside corners, simple inside and outside caps, and edging. Here in Canada it most commonly comes in white.
For some reason our local Lowes carries it in the drywall section? Either way build looks good Geoff especially considering the circumstances it was built in.
